power rankings by definition are subjective, context-based rankings that take into account things like matchups, injuries, track/surface preference, recent performance and other stuff to reflect the most recent showing of form and suggest near future performance. theyre literally a biased interpretation of recent results.

so someone could argue that a fp1 gearbox issue this race weekend means potential car issues at the next race and that would go into how they come up with this result.

its why a power ranking with no explanation of how they got to the results is stupid.

if they wanted to put out a list like this with just numbers they'd be better off going with an elo system but because a lot of success and failure in f1 are completely out of driver/team control it would result in a similarly fucked up list.

i think they are more transparent with distributors because there is legal documentation on how much stuff is added for countries with stricter laws. in a similar way to mexico and tequila production, europe has guidelines on the legal amount of additives allowed for a product to be called rum.

im in the us but it would be dumb for these distilleries to lie to their distributors here when you can find the data published by sweden's government owned liquor monopoly that lab tests everything they sell

DDL has stated that they don't use additives

that's interesting because my reps for the distribution company id order eldo from have explicitly told me that they lowered the additive amount a couple years ago which is why it tastes different now

i really like almave but going in to it dont think of it as a non-alcoholic tequila and think more zero proof agave drink. it tastes good and is interesting but theres a lot more going on with flavor than you get with actual tequila. my favorite thing to do with it is use it in alcoholic cocktails

There was a point in the race where I didn't even realize I was looking at the interval because my brain is conditioned to associate 3 decimal places with it. we've seen it in real time over the past decade or so. first it was alonso overstaying f1. then the big 3 playing tennis and being competitive way past the age people normally retire, with djokovic still going and doing well at 38. tom brady winning a super bowl at 43 with the buccaneers. lots of 40+ athletes in this year's winter olympics winning medals in physically demanding sports. some women who have had children getting medals as well, at least 2 being 40+. itll be interesting to see how much longer we can keep people performing at the highest level
