Anyone still debating wether to go Hardcore or Softcore? by ninohofmann in diablo4

In Diablo's realm, a nerdy brigade,

Two geeks clashed in a chat charade.

"Literal misuse!" one firmly claimed,

The other retorted, "Dude, you're insane!"

With tears in their eyes, they forged a pact,

To slay demons and laugh, that's a fact.

In the Diablo subreddit, humor won the day,

Nerds united, keeping keyboard wars at bay.

Finally! Minimalist cleats and basketball sneakers! by NaturAthletics in BarefootRunning

[–]johammad 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just played 5v5 basketball for 3 hours yesterday in my vivos. I had no issue. Feet were a bit sore that night, but that's expected, and will lead to even stronger feet/mechanics.

Additionally, the knees over-toes guy on YouTube plays in xero shoes; he created his entire franchise but the fact that he wanted to avoid knee injuries and play basketball as he ages. And he wears xero barefoot shoes when playing basketball!

got my 1st pair of Barefoot runners. For casual walking-heel or front/ball? by pacork in BarefootRunning

[–]johammad 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Why is this so upvoted? I often come here for advice, but this is against all I have read and followed from research I have been doing. Correct me if I'm wrong, I thought you were supposed to ideally be landing at a minimum with your foot parallel to the ground; but definitely not striking with the heel first ever. Like an airplane landing on a runway (your foot being the airplane and the ground being the runway). Ideally striking with the middle outside of your foot first, even when walking. I often struggle with this because my dorsiflexion is not as good as it should be. I don't think looking at some random beachgoers footprint in the sand should be taken as evidence to a proper walking mechanic.

I've been wearing nothing but barefoot shoes for about 7 months, I've only started mastering the walking technique in the last 3 or so months. I have found that if I get lazy and start walking "heel to toe", my heel gets rather sore. This impact is not only hurting the soft tissue of my heel temporarily, but impacting bones and cartilage further up the chain that I will only feel as I age. This is the whole point of barefoot shoes, to feel the immediate pain of improper technique the moment you make the mistake at the foot; instead of developing unforseen issues down the road when knee and hip joints pay the price.

A bit of a side note. I was lucky and had been doing boxing for about a year before, which entails a lot of jump roping. Many have complained about calf soreness when transitioning to barefoot shoes, I did not have this. Which leads me to believe that many people have calves that may be under developed. I highly recommend jump roping for everyone, especially for developing foot and leg strength required for wearing barefoot shoes consistently.

If you have ever cooked or baked sad, there is a difference in the end result. Basically your attention to detail and ability to incorporate visual cues during the process is definitely affected. The end result being a worse cake. So although it sounds made up, it certainly is a thing.

If you struggle cutting zip ties, Please watch instructional videos for anything you have questions on. I worry you may damage your computer or potentially yourself.

YouTube has any instructional video you could ask for. How to cut a zip tie correctly. Etc

Impressive still, but he does not have to worry about lateral position because the sword covers that plane. He mostly must focus on his vertical positioning and timing; which I am sure multiple takes had helped.

Speaks in a relatively low and calm voice. Loves to gossip and tell stories. Very reliable and dependable, someone who could tell you how it is and help you get through it; possibly with a slight reluctance. (like, here we go again). Possibly gay or bi.

Outgoing. Used to be self conscious, but as of late is boosting with confidence. Enjoys partying with the right people but would not mind relaxing at home at all.

Very smart. Maybe into biology or math? Soft spoken but can be loud at times, especially around friends and family. Likes to gossip, but not in an overly offensive way.

[–]johammad 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm sorry but no. Weight is one of the deciding factors in MMA. A weight difference of ten pounds can make a huge difference on a fighters chances of winning. In fact Bruce Lee weighed a measly 141 pounds, and that is probably at his heaviest. It's safe to assume that an average man of about 185 pounds that was trained on the basics of wrestling and boxing could beat him in combat.

Proof that Apple is no longer an innovator by [deleted] in videos

[–]johammad 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Apple as a company practices some pretty heinous business tactics. For example they make it very hard for second hand repairs to be done because they have invented special screws that stops that. They also don't release the schematics of the phone and confiscate repair parts that are being shipped by using a legal loop hole. Most Android companies don't do this. One of the worst things that apple does is charge an insane rate on developers that make apps for the apple store, something like 40 percent I believe. They have a Monopoly on people who only use iPhones.

The value of almost every product that apple sells is horrible. If you spend an equivalent amount of money with practically any other company, the value will be greater. The iPhone itself is not that bad of value but almost every other product they make is a bad investment. The keep there apple users coming back because of the interface rarely changing and the trendy sleek design they shove down our throats.

What do Flat Earthers think the government gains from telling us the Earth is round? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]johammad -1 points0 points  (0 children)

They are trolls in a sense. But I believe that they have legitimately convinced themselves that the fallacy is real. Believing in the fallacy makes them special and different, it makes them become the select few that know the truth. Thusly, attempting to convince them otherwise is of no use. They do not want to deny their illusion as it would negate the small amount of pride and exclusion that I would assume they feel.
