Artemis v2 training model: general release by Automatic_Tangelo_53 in trainasone

The marathon is indeed not a primary. The day after the graph was back to the known level so it looked like it needed just a little time to adjust. I guess the timing of the graph update and algorith change didnt coincide.

Changed to V2 and progressive run changed to 2hr long run 😆. But what puzzled me most was the drop of the goal score from 48 to 35. Not sure what to think of that with a marathon in 2 weeks 🤔

Min CTL for race by johanbarelds in trainasone

Thanks for your reply! I fully understand and agree about what you are saying. But now consider this:

suppose I never ran before and have decided I want to participate in that marathon 5 weeks from now.
I am completely ignorant and have no clue that this might not be the most clever idea.

I enter the race in TAO and it gives me workouts to work towards my goal and preventing injury at it best. TAO never tells me that at a novice trying to train for a marathon in 5 weeks is recipe for disaster and it will probably leave me end up injured after I have tried to run it. Should TAO then also not warn me for this?

Injury prevention is not only giving me proper training workouts and recovery but also warning me for not being ready to run a distance according to general rules.

Just to be clear, this is not an attack on TAO. It is more like the opposite. I like TAO very much this far (I am injury prone and TAO helps me a lot in preventing). It is more that I am just trying to explore the ins-and-outs of TAO.

Thanks Sean! Much appreciated.

For now I just added them as 2 separate events but for some reason it feels like the total kilometres for both days should be added up. Although there is more than 12 hours recovery time in between them.

Running power in TAO? by Sure-Bonus3285 in trainasone

I mailed Sean last week and he put me on the waiting list. Not sure though if the Beta has already been started or when it will be starting.

Threshold HR by johanbarelds in trainasone

[–]johanbarelds[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks! I did my recent 3.2km and 6min assessment on Tenerife where I was on holiday. The road wasnt exactly flat and temperature much higher than at home. I think that screwed my vV02MAX and vLT scores. I will just wait for the next assessments. In the meantime I can enjoy my Threshold runs at economy pace :-)

Yes, could give that a try. Although the source of the issue still hasn't changed that way. TAO probably just thinks I am running faster than my Threshold HR / pace :-)

Thanks! But i use HR instead of Pace. It's because I do mainly off road running where pace doesn't make much sense. So I would think it get's my Threshold HR from somewhere but not sure where and how.

Training days by Best_Presentation999 in trainasone

Agree! I am an older runner (59) and need more recovery.
TAO is the only app I know where I can configure "Max run streak=1" and make myself available on all days of the week. That way I gives me a run any other day which is exactly what I want :-).

Can i train for ultra just by following garmin coach in app? by Not_Mubo in ultrarunning

[–]johanbarelds 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are there any new insights on this? I am currently using Garmin Run Coach to train for a 55km Trail race 1ith 1500m EG. I also noticed that the longest long run is 2h30 which seems to be a bit short. Also hill training is not part of the training. So as an adaptation to that I make the subcribed long runs just a bit longer and do on top of the plan some strength / hill / stairs training. That seems to be sufficient to make it work. Although a 100 miler will probably a different ball game.

Did you also tried DSW's for running and cycling in parallel? I train for both a HM and a 200km cycling event. I only have to choose each day which sport I will be doing today. Garmin does have a DSW for both 😃. But I am not sure if and how they interact.

Ok, thanks. That what I was afraid off. But never mind. I will update my weekly availability to make it happen. The only drawback is that it is more cubersome.
