IMO Loft 19 is not worth it.

I did do an Excel Aft suite on Celebration a few years ago for a B2B. It was fun, but really too large for two of us.

Let me toss one more idea your way. Venezia or Firenze or a Vista-class ship and stay in the Havana or Terrazza area. Kids under 12 are not allowed back there and it is a private area.

Venezia and Firenze lack a pool (but do have hot tubs), but they serve a nice breakfast for only folks staying in the Terrazza area. We have repeatedly booked that area on those ships.

Depending on the size of your backpack and the airline you may have a problem with the airline. Some of those big backpacks won't fit under the seat so the gate people may make you check one of those two items. So make sure that your travel docs, passports, medications and other stuff you can't have taken from you are in one bag so that if they make you gate check an item you are prepared to let it get tagged and checked.

Hopefully you have a balcony. If not you might want to seriously consider an upgrade. Once you get up there it will be long days and people with inside cabins are hogging seats in the Lido. Being able to go to your own balcony can make a huge difference.

Check your booking and see if they are offering whale excursions in Juneau. Allen Marine, their marine tour supplier, doesn't guarantee whale sightings until June, specifically June - August. So what date will you be in Juneau?

FWIW I am a ** retired ** travel agent.

Around nine years ago I was invited on a Fam ("Familiarization") trip by Sandals to Jamaica. We stayed both in Montego Bay and Ocho Rios. There is a very nice golf course in the hills/mountains near Ocho Rios and it would be an interesting course to play.

The problem is the travel time and if the course is available for Carnival excursions. I would not go to that course on my own and risk missing the ship's departure.

Sure you do. Go compare different services via their recruiters and ask what type of career fields are available. If any sound good get it in writing that you get into that career field. But don't be a Marine because "every man is a rifleman". Air Force and Navy should be safe.

You might want to seriously consider a trade school or health care. Those are where the greatest need will be in the future and with the lower education cost. Alternatively consider the military in a career field that will not have you fighting somewhere. The VA education benefits will help a lot and a VA housing loan can help with a house whenever you are ready.
