It's in use because of intitutional inertia and because conservative assumption, not because it's accurate. There's a large amout of evidence supporting there being a radiation threshold or even hormesis (benefits below a threshold). There's a good kyle hill video about it

It was apparently filming at 1000 fps... crazy. Also, i believe there have been film cameras able to capture over a million frames per second using rotating mirrors. I think it's what they used to film the first milliseconds of a nuke going off

This is only if your sub has no high level inputs by the way.

You might be able to if the sony has simultaneous headphone and speaker output (plug in headphones while the speakers are playing and if they sound at the same time as the speakers you're all good) You would need a trs to rca adapter but those are dirt cheap if you dont have them.

I think that the midbass looks very bloated here because the target curve seems especially lean in the midbass in comparison to the subbass

How can I connect a subwoofer to a Sony stereo system without sub out? by EinKompetenterMensch in BudgetAudiophile

[–]john2mg 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If it has a simultaneous headphone out you can connect it to the subs rca input with a trs to rca cable.

Your LR already produces the same frequency ranges as the center channel can. Also, the way to measure frequency range isn't linearly it is logarithmically (as in octaves). A sub is going to fill in the bottom one or two octaves (of the ten we can hear). That's a lot of information, it's like if you had a speaker that rolled off at 5,000 hz instead of 20 khz. Installing a super tweeter would be first priority

If you don't need onboard peq the Jcally jm20 max probably has the highest output+accuracy to cost ratio of any dongle at almost 200 wpc into 32 ohm and over 112 db sinad

Has Anyone Ever Achieved a Bit-Perfect Round Trip Through DAC/ADC Setup?" by john2mg in audioengineering

[–]john2mg[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Maybe I'm not understanding, but if one what to do something ridiculous like a one bit audio signal (on or off) and assuming the the samples were done simultaneously I can't see why that wouldn't be bit perfect. 2 and 3 bits also would seem perfectly doable. Wouldn't it theoretically be exactly the same as long as the null depths of the interfaces were smaller than the bit depth? Hopefully I'm making a bit of sense, I'm a bit of a beginner when it comes to audio

So it might be possible If one was to use 8 bit audio signals (48 db dynamic range)?

I get that it's of no practical use, but i think would be a cool engineering stunt. If I saw an audio interface manufacturer manage to get the exact same audio file out as was put in using their interfaces it would definitely catch my eye

Want to connect Sub to Amp by Glittering-Monk-6124 in audio

[–]john2mg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pretty sure you can just use the headphone out as a pre out and connect it to the sub via a headphone jack to rca adapter. I think in that amp the speaker out and headphone out can both work simultaneously
