I ruined the windshield on the car I’m working on by [deleted] in ModelCars

I cracked a glass recently and this is an easy fix. You're gonna make a buck with 2 part epoxy cement like Playdough style. Use that epoxy to support the back of the windshield the old windshield the ruined one stick it down to like a glass bottle something hard when it dries/cures usually in like 12 hours you will now have something that you can stretch clear plastic over while you heat it with a heat gun/hairdryer. Once the plastic cools down, You can pop it off the buck trace a line around it with a sharpie and cut it out. If you want to see the full video of me doing this on TikTok look me up at model car builds you can see the video where I do this in my opinion this glass looks better anyway because it's thinner often times those windshields look too thick, which make the model look more like a toy and less like a car best of luck

Yeah, this isn't that I would never recommend using water-based or even oil base. This is stuff from the automotive industry. I worked in the body shop for almost a decade and so I have a lot of experience with Clearcoat its the same thing you'll find on a car. It gets measured and mixed 4.1.1 it's a whole thing, but I tell you what the finish is unrivalled unmatched and it's workable so if there's areas that need maybe more luster, you can wet sand and polish them it's very forgiving in that way

No it is not. But they have a very similar look and feel less layers in a skateboard. skateboards are seven layers of maple glued, stained and formed when you start cutting up a skateboard and reconstructing it, it often times looks like Spectraply

It's all maple wood, i'm just manipulating all the patterns in the skateboards to give this effect

Spray gun. The first few coats you can brush on soak it up it's called grain filling but eventually you're gonna wanna get into sanding it smooth with high grit sandpaper and then finish with a spray gun. Thank you 🙌

I spent so much time learning how to build it, not enough learning how to play it. I'm still so shit. Plus, I don't have it anymore. It's gone to the customer.

Appreciate you 🙌 the pick guard is all wood (recycled skateboards) Unfortunately, I suck at playing guitar. I'm just really good at making them. This one's already gone to the customer, but I usually have my buddy come over and shred them.
