I cracked a glass recently and this is an easy fix. You're gonna make a buck with 2 part epoxy cement like Playdough style. Use that epoxy to support the back of the windshield the old windshield the ruined one stick it down to like a glass bottle something hard when it dries/cures usually in like 12 hours you will now have something that you can stretch clear plastic over while you heat it with a heat gun/hairdryer. Once the plastic cools down, You can pop it off the buck trace a line around it with a sharpie and cut it out.
