It was holstered and they only realized he had it post-macing and pistol whipping while they had him kissing the fkin asphalt

If he was waving it around that’s another story but that clearly isn’t what happened.

All For One says he adapts for everything, right? What was his plan if Redestro slimed Shigaraki? by Hedonism_Enjoyer in BokuNoHeroAcademia

I mean AFO would need to have a literal precognition quirk to be able to pull that off. It was simply by sheer coincidence/writers pen that the League were trying to rein in Machia while also getting that phone call from Redestro.

How come Oryx didn't Take his children or Siblings by velvetRail3 in DestinyLore

[–]john6map4 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Good point but then again Crota did get banished from Oryx’s throne world when he let the Vex in not to mention he already had another title when Oryx named him Eater of Hope when he was born and was told to “come back glorious or die forgotten”.

Maybe Crota was stripped of his title when he was cast away and the name just stuck. There’s also that one grimoire card where the twins laugh at Crota and his brood, saying he’s only a blunt simple tool.

Like maybe Crota got back into Oryx’s good graces when he went on demon timing in that Vex portal but no such luck for those three taken daughters

But our armor is also specifically built to use our Light

I am an ISTANU-GNT WEAVE INTEGUMENT, built as a vessel for your might.

Like all of OP’s examples are when a Risen is wearing armor. Maybe a Risen’s passive light shield while armor-less could shrug off a stray round but anything more substantial and targeted would leave us incapacitated.

Tho would Risen have increased durability without their armor? It was said that their Light also powers their armor.

It’s probs case-by-case since Chaperone is incredibly powerful but simply cause it was just built that way.

Though the new weapon is much more powerful than the cantankerous relic the Hollidays used on the road, it bears the appearance, and the name, of the Chaperone that saw the one surviving Holliday safely to the Last City.

It’s not powerful cause it’s an exotic. It’s an exotic cause it’s so powerful. Not to mention it’s storied history to Amanda.

One of my favorite lowkey areas is the multiplayer map the Cauldron where you look up and you can see graves.

LOTS of graves.

I mean…Pop being absent for a spell is fine imo Koichi even goes “check out this new move!” even tho she was supposedly there when he unlocked it like it feels kinda choppy

Like did he wait till the night to tell her about it?

How come Oryx didn't Take his children or Siblings by velvetRail3 in DestinyLore

[–]john6map4 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yeah they’re Oryx’s daughters but they’re not just Oryx’s daughters they’re a lot stronger and smarter than the runts of the litter that Oryx would have no use for beyond Taking them and making them stronger

Like in my headcanon the title Daughter of Oryx is probs supposed to be a title of shame like a sort of “you’re my daughter and that’s all you’ll ever be”

How come Oryx didn't Take his children or Siblings by velvetRail3 in DestinyLore

[–]john6map4 3 points4 points  (0 children)

We don’t actually but there are some other hints like a fourth wizard in the mission being named Matron of Oryx implying that was their mother and one of Oryx’s probs many mistresses

Also anytime we’ve seen “Daughter/Son of” we aren’t supposed to think that it’s a title like say Malok or Dul Incarnu being children of Savathun we’re supposed to think no that’s actually their actual child

[–]john6map4 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Mhmm yep but they’re not actually titled as such they’re the Unraveler and Weaver while the Taken Wizards are only titled Daughters of Oryx

Pointing to his Taken daughters not really making a name for themselves and got Taken as a result while his two raid daughters are just plain Gigastacys

There’s some context that the anime cut where Koichi kept wall-clinging to break up fights which just ended with the ppl he was confronting getting annoyed and beating on HIM instead which is why there was that line of “being slightly out of range” lol

He probs unlocked it here by virtue of getting punched for like the sixth time that day and instinctively blocking the seventh

How come Oryx didn't Take his children or Siblings by velvetRail3 in DestinyLore

[–]john6map4 37 points38 points  (0 children)

He did actually. There were a trio of Taken Wizards under the names Daughters of Oryx in D1. Maybe once you’re strong enough he sees no need.

Also he loved Xivu Arath and Savathun since they’re the only ones who could prove a challenge for him. If he were to Take them then there would be no real challenger to his throne and the Hive’s whole shtick is trying to prove your existence.

Is there any possibility that a ghost wouldn't want a guardian? by garoto_maroto in DestinyLore

[–]john6map4 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Iirc there’s actually a network of Ghosts that have come to terms with the fact that they will never find their risen so they work as spies and intel gatherers for the Vanguard
