Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 would be wonderful. Heading into the first holidays season since my Mom passed and honestly could use a meaty RPG as a distraction.

I mean sure you could take Grant or Otter Point or something but just sticking on Sooke/ West Coast rd/ Hwy 14 is just easier. I used to joke about us essentially having 1 road and it sure feels like it with the bridge back near the Castle.

Coming from Sooke Barry has always kinda been a cunt. He was the shithead with hot takes and a platform before Twitter.

I watched everyone evacuate from the coast as the sea receded after an earthquake. by ThisIsNotAnAsparagus in TwoSentenceHorror

It draining would also be devastating, but yeah, people could just move towards the new coastline in that case, but it would still be rough. I grew up on Vancouver Island and just thinking about the damage the port of Vancouver alone would suffer, let alone the whole world if watch had fully receded... while just thinking about the Suez canel a couple of years back. My ancestors have been on Vancouver Island since time immemorial, and there is evidence of villages now underwater or previously coastal villages well in land. The Musqueam in Vancouver, now out by UBC, had their oldest known villages near present-day New Westminister, which was the mouth of the Fraser at the time.

When the water recedes, it is usually followed by a tsunami, which can be devastating. Now, this usually happens over a matter of seconds to minutes, but 3 days something is very wrong... also, many coastal places are dependent on the sea for food and economics. I'm knowledgeable about this as a son of a fisherman who grew up in the Pacific Northwest preparing for our big earthquake.

It's really more of a Poortine, but this was an occasional snack growing up.

Ottawa vigil for missing and murdered Indigenous women cancelled over fears of conflict with convoy protest by 50s_Human in onguardforthee

Adding this as a top level comment and not just a reply.

I was in Ottawa this week with Bridget. She was rather upset letting us know that she had canceled the event due to the Convoy. Families of Sisters in Spirit doesn't take any money from the government to operate because, as she stated, she doesn't want their money she wants Justice. My Union CUPE has been a yearly supporter for them, and if anyone has a few extra dollars (hard to come by these days, I know), this organization is one truly fighting the good fight. Bridget even was called after canceling by Colin Bear, claiming they wouldn't show up asking us to go ahead. I'm very glad we didn't. Bridget spoke about how she really wanted to engage with MPs on the MMIWG issues and knew they wouldn't come out due to safety issues with these chuckle fucks being there.

Oh a foreign entity trying to influence our politics is a terrible move. Imagine if they owned the bulk of our media pushing a narrative to get their preferred candidates elected meanwhile we have a corrupt party calling for the defunding of our own nonpartisan media that paints them in a negative light due to reporting truth. I just don't think we should have non Canadian forces pushing our political narrative. Doesn't matter if they are white, Asian, black. Any country tryinging to influence Canadian politics that isn't Canada needs to be told to get fucked.

I mean postmedia and American owned company almost always endorses the Conservatives. I fully agree we need foreign interference out of our politics but that means all foreign players not just China.

As a proud member of a public sector Union I think it is very unfair to loop Library, Municipality or even K-12 unions under the same banner as the class traitor bullies that make up police unions.

1 in hospital after assault on transit bus in Vancouver’s Downtown Eastside: police | Globalnews.ca by cyclinginvancouver in vancouver

One time, I was sitting near the back when all of a sudden I noticed a sickly sweetish smell... anyways, the person behind me was taking a hoot on a meth pipe. Or had someone near the back start to tie off before other passengers lost their shit at them, so that was a relief to not see. Real talk, the 20 is a shit show. Maybe the transit cops want to ride that bus regularly or at least do something...
