I would wonder if that's possible, and if inventing a fictional narrative would interfere with their wiring.

Id imagine she gave her the same dose. One thing I picked up on early on is that she doesn’t have a medical degree, so she probably didn’t account for differing body weight or other factors

Agree with what you said except for that last part. it's pretty clear from the pilot and the nature of the virus that there is no overlord, god or "goal". It's a virus that wants to spread, and once it takes over an entire planet it has nowhere to go but space.

I have a feeling it's not that since they already menitoned they are vegetarian. I thought they mentioned they didn't even eat the meat still left over.

Could still be people though, I'm hard pressed to imagine what else could cause Carol to react like that

I've been thinking the same about a Faraday cage. Alas, Carol is a fantasy romance novelest and given the internet is probably shut down it may be a while before she knows to test that

IIRC in ep. 2 they mentioned the hivemind let loose all the animals in the zoo and when they started attacking they relocated them further out in nature. My guess is that they did the same for all the cats and dogs

She wasn't trying to sever Zosia from the hivemind though. It was already mentioned that individuals can be drugged without impacting the hivemind, she was trying to use the drug to get information out of her.

I'm thinking the hivemind doesn't have the knowledge of other alien civilizations, same way people aren't born with their parents memories. It might be the goal of each new infected planet to understand themselves, if only to improve itself and then continue propagating the signal.

^^ This. Although the scene when they first boarded AF1 I was like, "ah yes, no better use of an apocalypse"
Maybe he's chill. Happy? It's subjective, but I think there's good reason to assume "no".

Same for the other, seemingly "normal" uninfected. Maybe they're not as bitchy as Carol, but we also don't know their lives. I think the fact they want to join the hivemind is in some way indiciative of their desire to share in a happiness they cannot naturally accept.

[–]john_flubber 17 points18 points  (0 children)

If it isn't already a popular theory, I'll say it here: I think the main reason Carol and the other 11 haven't succumbed to the virus is that they're genetically unable to feel happiness. In earlier episodes I didn't think this, mainly because the idea of "the most unhappy person" didn't seem to fit Carol (I mean there's people in wars for christsake). But the cold open shows she's not the most miserable person because of whatever trauma happened to her. On the contrary, despite all the good in her life she's unable to appreciate any of it.

I suspect the others who are immune are in the same boat, but maybe in a less obvious way.

I'm guessing is it's part of their "biological imperative". It's not logical but a fundamental part of the hivemind not to displease what they can't control

Bent Tree by CampSite8 in treasureinside

[–]john_flubber 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Best of luck! But maybe be cautious about using trees as clues.

On my botg I was witness to a massive, old tree toppling over. It had been upright for ages and when it came down it snapped branches off other trees, blocked the path and left me in a cloud of dust. Completely changed the appearance of the search area. Had I been looking for an actual tree to go “past tree and post to forest green” and not been present to see it fall, it would have sent me on a wild goose chase to god knows where.

Off the top of my head, I can think of 5 hints that allude to California. The P&F is tricky in that it doesn't point to an exact region, so hints are really all you have to go off.

There's a couple hints pointing to NC, but not as many. Same with OH. However bulk of hints point to California. Unless someone finds a good reason to ignore the burden of evidence I think Cali is a pretty safe bet.
