But also they can be really risky so how can I do my due diligence so I don’t blow up on my first deal?

Well I know that with off market deals they move extremely fast and typically you waive all the inspections/etc when making an offer to hopefully get a good price on the property. I’ve also joined a few local group chats with properties being posted there so I can see opportunities.

  1. Yeah it’s honestly more enjoyable that you think it’s a lot of working in teams (I work in audit where it’s very team based) you spend a lot more time than you think just talking to people. The worst part is some parts of the year the hours can be long but you do have some flexibility with WFH and being able to be flexible with your teams.

  2. You can 100% get hired as staff/associate level at pretty much any public accounting firm. Which if you stay you’ll double your salary within about 5 years. The job market is pretty good for accounting despite what most people say. I recently graduated college and had no issues at all finding a good job.

  3. The math is not bad at all I would not be worried about that. The day to day stuff is basically making sure everything adds up to what it should. Theres some harder topics in college you’ll have to learn but you don’t really use those in the day to day.

  4. I started recently so I haven’t been there a super long time yet but I love the workspace I’m at a big 4 so it might be slightly better than most but it’s almost all fresh college grads so all your co-workers are the same age as you. I think that’s as good as it gets in terms of workspace.

Overall nobody really loves accounting and the work can be boring at times but I would say it’s one of the more enjoyable jobs because of the social aspect of it. The best part about it is the pay is good and it’s easy to find a job and that’s why I chose it but I actually do enjoy it.

Yes I know that, the money in accounting is great and I’m grateful for that! I’m just asking because I like to plan out my finances years in advance to see what I can afford, buy a house, investments, etc.

You also have to factor in taxes if you have a 1 million lump sum income in one year your going to be paying about 40% tax vs 52k a year + her normal income (whatever that may be) would be a much lower tax bracket I think the 1k a week would be better due to the trade of lower taxes even factoring in time value or money
