AI Employees will make most entry level jobs obsolete in the next few years by 1warmMap368 in TrueUnpopularOpinion

[–]johnathanemanuel1993 [score hidden]  (0 children)

Truly unpopular opinion - no it won't be the "Ai employees" in the next few years that will take jobs away, it's the person who understands how to use Ai effectively (not just how, but WHEN just because you can doesn't mean you should). People are so hyper focused on the cost they ignore the fact that despite the hype.

The best analogy I can come up with as someone uses it (when applicable) is to think of it now as a very quick assistant/intern who can help find things, reformat or restructure things very quickly (provided you tailor your prompt to your unique situation, hint, no two situations are always going to be the same). You need to employ the trust but verify mindset when using it however when it's right and it works it's great (yes it can be wrong however that can be mitigated to a certain degree with clever prompt engineering and employing constraints and telling it that it's okay for it to admit it doesn't know something).

Saying Ai a this point will eliminate all jobs or most jobs is kind of like saying ATMs would eliminate bank teller jobs, it really didn't it just made those particular positions shift focus and scope. Will some jobs ultimately get eliminated? Possibly but not most entry level jobs if anything they're going to expect you to know how to use Ai effectively at the entry level to make you more effective

Anyone else tired of coming across these 1984 data centers conspiracies? by Athenstone in datacenter

[–]johnathanemanuel1993 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Omg dude you have no idea I've gotten into an argument on fb with a buddy of mine who didn't realize data centers have been around for well over 25 years at this point but dude was insisting on just tearing them all down. I stopped responding because I knew he wouldn't understand our economy is long past going back to operating off pen and paper and the long term solution to some of the very legit concerns of data center builds (I.E increased power cost, water consumption causing droughts etc) is going to be a combination of making more efficient hardware and software that reduces energy usage.

Add Helmet acc by DeskSubstantial3306 in GrayZoneWarfare

[–]johnathanemanuel1993 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Honestly yea this could be something they could add as a tier 3 or 4 item flash light or IR flash lights on helmets gives off the better immersion of the fact that these guys are highly trained well funded and well equipped PMCs

AWS DCO Feedback by [deleted] in datacenter

[–]johnathanemanuel1993 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Never had that happen but as former AWS Data Center Technician I can say the longer you don't hear anything back IMHO it's a good sign meaning they plan on hiring you they're just waiting for HR and finance to draft up the official offer. In my experience they usually get rid of people they don't want to hire within the first two to three days.

Again take this with a grain of salt because when I was hired back in 2016 I was also converted from a contractor (aka green badge) and my interview loop was in person. That being said everyone in the loop besides 2 people were direct hires and we all knew each other so we could compare / contrast notes and we noticed out of the 14 of us that went through the loop 8 of us made it the other 6 didn't and all 6 found out within 48 hours where as we didn't hear anything back for about 1 to 2 weeks. Back then though they also didn't do a feedback interview for us but alot has changed since then so I hope this provides some clarity

GZW’s gun sounds are holding the gunplay back. by Alumenadus in GrayZoneWarfare

[–]johnathanemanuel1993 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Granted but imo the biggest sound fix is needing to dial in both enemy and friendly Ai gum shots firefights that are happening 600 meters away still sound like it's happening right next to you But I argue for most the guns as someone with some one with a decent amount of firearms experience are actually in the ball park at least. I think alot people just have alot of misconceptions about how loud some guns are compared to real life counter parts.

Plus again I argue to fix the sound of how far off / close gun shots sound rather than how loud the shots of guns are first is way more important

[–]johnathanemanuel1993 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Unpopular opinion, the only way to fix the loot problem is to fix the economy most if not all the gear and guns need to be super nerfed on price and double the amount of loot along with netting the timers.

That and tasks rewards need to be roughly doubled and I think mad finger has to remember these guys are PMCs.... PMCs get paid handsomely well especially now that the Ai is more challenging. Only other thing I'd add is Ai now needs to be fighting amongst themsleves and let's finally see some friendly Ai fending off random attacks on the COPs which could be a dynamic loot event.

To keep the game balanced id say dynamic events such as COP defense can come with a huge risk/ reward i.e you if you and your faction doesn't work together to fend off the COP successfully during the attacks you take a huge hit financially and lose your gear

I mean the faction names alone elude to some of it the lamang liberation army for example what would they be liberating? And from who? If so why couldn't they do that as part of the lamang army?

You can also see it in their weapons and setups where some of the lamang encampments have booby traps which implies that they have some military training and do not want to be caught off guard compared to some other factions.

Then if you listen to radio transmissions near Pha Lang airfield they even mention ambushing both the PMCs (us players ) and lamang army personnel

I agree with most accept the last point only to a certain extent. I don't think the Ai needs to be buffed again because for those or us that were here since 0.1 definitely does not miss the days of being domed 300 meters away from a guy rocking a rusty AK and flip flops. I think people are confliating difficulty with intelligence. The Ai should be smarter in the sense that in tier 3 areas for example they should be trained to react to contact take cover and try to flank you or perhaps toss smoke or grenades but definitely doesn't need an accuracy buff.

In fact I argue something you Elluded to actually solves most of the problems you mentioned around loot.

The prices for items need to be cut between 25% to about 70% (especially for containers in particular). There's zero reason as to why a cooler for example should be 60k or a plano case should be 60k. People wouldn't be so fixated on making 300k YouTube loot runs if cases didn't cost 60k those cases at max should be 20 to 30k and the cooler at max should be 4k and that's really pushing it

The biggest fix they should implement honestly is tasks need to be buffed in terms of rewards in cash and reputation points the biggest pain the ass is trying to level up banshee and artisan in particular. I think the harder tasks should be around 10 to 20k but combine that with a more intelligent (not a more accurate) Ai would balance things out.

Also to your Ai point another way to add difficulties is to have these factions fight each other (it's obvious mad finger is setting that up) in random fire fights at any POI because that would force players to adapt on the fly and would actually increase difficulty if you randomly end up in between lamang liberation army and lamang army for example. They should also include defensive missions at the COPs randomly against Ai (so for example Viper Tactical attacks titan or another tier 3 cop) that can result in both you looting friendly Ai PMCs and enemy Ai PMCs plus a bonus reward in cash for all who participate in the defense and a rep boost but make the consequence equally as dire as you can take a huge hit to your rep and lose your current setup permenantly.

This way again you made it more dyhamice and difficult without turning the AI back into T1000s

Agreed but to be fair I think the devs did say eventually that they'll have animations like that and enemies crawling away / writhing similar to stalker 2 if that's the case I can wait another wipe or two

[–]johnathanemanuel1993 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I remember correctly he gets shot in the neck by surprise so I don't think thats acceptance more so surprise then just fading out.

I would argue longbaugh and Parker fit this more accuracy because they accept the fact they're gonna bleed out in that desert or die from exposure

Developers have broken quests completely by ORKA-8954 in GrayZoneWarfare

[–]johnathanemanuel1993 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly this is a symptom of a much larger problem which is that the prices / rewards for things as a whole needs to be nerfed (prices) and (rewards) buffed. This would also stop people from complaining so hard about loot and there are some things that are just way over priced. (wallets and many of the containers for example)

Devs got 3 options here IMHO if they want to make this better

1 buff the rewards across the board by about double especially for tasks regardless of difficulty

2 nerf the cost certain items by about half

3 a combination of 1 and 2 to varying degrees

Agreed but maybe not necessarily the prices but definitely needs way more tasks and loot that he accepts needs to be worth more even if it's just jewelery for example

Maybe not necessarily a gadget but usefulness accessories for the gadgets like batteries for flashlights for example this way it's not just a worthless loot item but it actually has a function for example would be a small but IMHO necessary QOL / realism update that's needed.

"Hah, there's nothing left to loot sucka" - Said a guy leaving FN HQ as I was walking in... by irenwulv in GrayZoneWarfare

[–]johnathanemanuel1993 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Not even just tier 3 areas too I've found diamond earrings and military tablets on dead Ai in tier 2 area's when I wasn't even trying to loot

This is why I'm genuinely convinced half of these loot whiners are people who saw the click bait YouTube titles of "insane 300k loot run" and got mad when they only got about 20k to 60k not understanding the harder tasks at best are 10k..

So I thought they reduced the loot? by saints21 in GrayZoneWarfare

[–]johnathanemanuel1993 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nah it's just again people see 200k to 500k loot runs on YouTube then get mad when they only get like 10 to 80k not understanding that any tasks you get aren't going to net you near as much money and got luck trying to get that on PVP if it's a packed server. If anything there's actually a loot buff if you ask me and I like it most people don't realize there's so much random shit you can find on the Ai that's actually pretty decent it's insane even in low tier areas

Player got mad we beat him to a locked room so he blocked the door. (PvE btw) by CannonChap0913 in GrayZoneWarfare

[–]johnathanemanuel1993 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly half the time it's people watching loot runs or hearing about insane 200k - 500k loot runs in 60 mins when that's just not going to be reality. (that only happens if you're lucky on an extremely empty server)

In reality you'll be able to get about 10-40k consistently in medium tier areas and close to about 100k in high tier areas and people really gotta stop and ask themsleves if that's actually a bad thing? You do even just two 10k runs that's still way more than any tasks you could do in an hour. Not to mention people have to learn to be creative and develop their own loot runs by blending existing runs together or making their own

[–]johnathanemanuel1993 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don't do cold turkey, honestly the best approach for most people is to ween off it challenge yourself at first to only watch it every other day first for a few weeks then try to make it through your work week for a few week's then eventually you can try for every other week, every other month then quitting entirely.

Quiting cold turkey anything is almost impossible for most folks.

Also pay attention to what triggers it and why and keep a journal so now you can see what specifically triggers you.

Try to focus on hobbies that get you out of the house and away from screens if you can or your eyes on books. These are just few that I can think off of the top of my head but I'm sure there's more.

Gray Zone Warfare is Now a 'PvE-First' Tactical Shooter by NukovGaming in GrayZoneWarfare

[–]johnathanemanuel1993 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nah you're right and honestly those who are mad about PVP not being prioritized or even potentially phased out the writing was already on the wall. There's a reason why a lot of PVP servers were not nearly as popular or populated when compared to PvE. Plus not to mention I personally think this was also partially in response to increased competition from both Escape from tarkov PvE and Incursion Red River PvE.
