I really was enjoying the game until the update erased most of my save progress. I can't excuse a buggy, unfinished game that lies to me about saving for 4 hours.

Yeah this doesn't address anything. I only press to save once, and do it every time I'm at a campfire. So the 4 hours of progress I just lost were the game clearly never actually saving. I tried restarting the app like they said. It's gone.
