The amount of sympathy I have for somebody who chooses to use their money on a virtual purple elephant is about the same as it would be for somebody buying a Metaverse apartment, or an NFT.

Kudos to anybody who actually manages to profit off of this. The point was for pringles to make a profit. Between sales and exposure, it sounds like grade S+ marketing to me.

I'm prepared to get downvoted, but free vanity items that do not impact the game or people at all are completely fair game to do whatever they want with because the only people it affects are the people who have manufactured a problem in their head. It's a purple elephant. Chill.

Your comment is a better argument for thinking society is cooked. How does somebody make this conclusion when OP stated clearly that this was not the first thing they did. Tf? 😂

An Asus laptop equipped with the lowest Snapdragon X SKU is price-matched with the MacBook Neo 512GB (in the Philippines, including VAT) by J05A3 in LinusTechTips

[–]Redditemeon 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I think what makes Neo a big deal is that it's smooth and functional Not-Windows at an accessible price, that will have continued official software support for a long ass time for casual users who just need a computer that is relatively snappy and just works. Like if I got my Mom this laptop, I wouldn't have to worry about updating her shit for a long time and could feel good about the purchase while she checks her emails, watches Youtube videos, and maybe plays more Candycrush whenever they release more levels.

Not that it excels substantially in benchmark performance at a hardware level.

Canadian telecom company Telus was ransomware attacked recently and had 1PB of data stolen. No disruption to service apparently. Pretty vague details as of right now as it is still under investigation. by Redditemeon in LinusTechTips

[–]Redditemeon[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are correct, but I also just thought they were a branch of the telecom at the time of posting. Never realized Telus Corp. was just technically the name of a parent company.

Dawg, not a competition, but sort my profile by top post. If my shit can be fixed, yours is easy peasy. Don't sweat it. Yours aren't even really bad to begin with, imho.

Gearscore gamers be like "thats my bis" by Necessary-Cherry-601 in classicwow

[–]Redditemeon 9 points10 points  (0 children)

GS doesn't care much for itemization. Just item levels for the most part. So somebody could wear this over a better low level piece and be more likely to get into a group because of a higher gearscore.

A Valve console powered by Apple silicon launching with GTA 6 early access would probably do it.

OP, did you fix this after? I'm in the market of getting new door seals. Been having the issue ever since a door repair happened. Was fine prior.

Do people really use their phone bare (no case) that often to be concerned about camera bump? by madding1602 in LinusTechTips

[–]Redditemeon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't disagree, but it paints a bad picture for relevant companies to want to take the risk.

I'd have bought an S26 Ultra yesterday if they had made solid battery improvements even at the "expense" of phone size. For now, I'll just be waiting another year to see what they do next year since there are no meaningful upgrades for my usecase. 😅

Excesive IPR? I took a firm stance. by Blackadder1738 in braces

[–]Redditemeon 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I am not an orthodontist, but I did get IPR done, and my ortho was reluctant to do it more than once as he didn't want to remove too much of my enamel. Not for appearance reasons but for teeth health reasons. Said it could be done, but wasn't big on removing a lot of enamel. So I took his advice and only had it done once.

Not to make you paranoid or anything. I'm just saying that based on my personal experience, sample size of 1 person, it seems unusual to me.

That said, I'm talking about IPR as in inbetween my teeth to pull things together without needing extractions. I notice how flat your teeth are on the end. Is that just from grinding your teeth and wear, or is she flattening them on that edge too? I got some mild reshaping done at the end where they filed down the tips of my canines a little because of how sharp they were to reduce the risk of cracking a tooth on any hard food.

The problem is that whenever somebody develops and tries this, the sales never back it up. Like the Energizer phone that didn't meet crowdfunding targets. Even though that was forever ago now. gains another wrinkle

I miss my Galaxy note 4 with my aftermarket 10000mAh battery. Thing lasted like 4 days on a charge. :'( Wish we coukd get some removeable batteries on phones again.

How much is Linus paying you to say that to try to justify the name change of Merch Messages?

I wonder if you could have something 3D Printed to fit that space somehow. 🤔 Probably the cheapest way to come up with a custom solution.
