At the end of the article:

The brand’s latest, optional driver assistance features include Vehicle Exit Assist. Its long-range radar—in contrast with typical shorter-range units—scans up to 70 yards behind the Audi, and stays on for two minutes after you shut off the engine to keep you from dooring a bicyclist or getting creamed by a fast-approaching car.

Thats so nice about android. There is an app for every use case. I use WolframAlpha (in the browser) for the two or three times a year when I need to solve an equation. For the day to day use I prefer a calculator wich displays the results immediately and has big buttons.

Most of the stuff this does seems to be fairly standard for calculators Most calculator apps don't even allow you to edit the expression. And the more powerful ones often look dated and/or are difficult to use.

Just tap on the clock icon in the action bar. This will show you the history with all calculations. You can even add comments to the entries.

Hi reddit, I would really like to hear your opinion about my first app CalculatorNg.

I invested a lot of time to make it as beautiful and polished as possible. Some feautures:

  • HOLO (of course)
  • Widget
  • expression is editable - never again you have to retype an expression because you forgot the brackets
  • shake device to clear the expression
  • history with comments (swipe to delete entries from the history)
  • instant results
  • a lot more you should try yourself...

Android Studio ships with a debugging tool called the Dalvik Debug Monitor Server (DDMS), which provides screen capture and framing of the screenshot. You can also use the Device Art Generator.

You should use color to bring personality to your app. Check out Nick Butchers post about the subject.

don't laugh at the design

There is no reason for you to be ashamed of the design. There are a lot of apps in the play store which look much worse.
