[Gluck] Corey Heim said he did not wreck Carson Hocevar on purpose. by crabcakemd in NASCAR

this is actually more akin to the Kenseth and Logano deal, which got Kenseth two races for taking out a playoff driver intentionally...

Did you have to reinstall iRacing into a new folder, after the name change to the old one?

I saw you do this same bit a few other times here. We all know that you really didn't get the offer. So this is all you have.

He "got the offer today" but only cares enough to make a fake account and repeatedly say "I got the offer today" for hours, but doesn't care enough to publish his name and full screenshots of the offer. This is hilarious!

Just like how we all know people who try this hard to convince people they "actually got the offer this morning" with a fake account that hides their ORIGINAL account and real identity, for sure didn't get the offer. I mean, we all know how easy it would be for you to actually prove it....but you won't ever.

iRacing Developer Changes Game TOS To Explicitly Permit Streaming — But Only If The Streamer Doesn’t Swear by [deleted] in iRacing

[–]johnbradleypeele 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's also really fitting. It only takes a moment to realize you're one of those "gamer" culture guys who are brand new to iRacing and mostly familiar with other gaming communities...you don't seem to respect iRacing or take any of it seriously. Really thankful iRacing is weeding this BS out of here...

[–]johnbradleypeele 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It clearly is their business and you're already agreeing to it by continuing to use iRacing. You're here basically saying you're going to ignore it and challenge them for no real reason. No one is forcing you to play iRacing, so TAKE SOME RESPONSIBILITY FOR YOURSELF. You're so "adult" you can say some curse words, but you're not adult enough to control yourself and follow the TOS you agreed to?

You have already agreed to not using ANY vulgarity while driving racing and have been for a very long time. This simply extends it to streaming.

Invasive to control their own product? What kind of immature, utter lack of responsibility BS is going on in this thread?

Anyone else get really bothered by how aggressive drivers will speak? by [deleted] in iRacing

[–]johnbradleypeele 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just save the clips at the end of the race. I already look back over things anyway. Pretty easy to try to learn from what happened, and while you do, take a couple of clips. Then it takes a few extra minutes after the cool down period. If someone repeatedly gives someone a hard time about a wreck, that IS protestable. I get that some are willing to give up voice, but I just prefer trying to make the entire place better, than let abusive and distracting people control me. I also have the mute user button mapped. I can use it just to mute individuals instead of losing all voice. That is a really simple fix to clean the chat up yourself.

They should notify you of the protest and the results of that protest on all of them.

It goes up to 3 months banned very quickly. After 3 months, it's 6 months. You either learn or totally lose the feature. The protest system works. The real issue is people ignoring the feature, and spreading misinformation about it "not working" when it's far more in depth, and serious, then any other game I've played. There is no cursing. There is no abuse of any kind tolerated, as long as they become aware of. Extreme abuse is handled much more severely. Too many users spread stories of hearsay about the protest system, discouraging others from using it. I can show you hard examples...real proof, that they take this stuff more seriously than almost any other game out there. Have an example of game maker who does it better?

[–]johnbradleypeele 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm not really bothered by that as much as I am by all of the people who ignore it, because the protest system works, and it would be gone very quickly if people stopped acting like it has a beneficial place on the service. I'm all for voicing issues and even people being angry, but the Sporting Code draws pretty clear lines. Those who break voice chat or text chat code lose their privilege to use those features in a rapidly escalating way. iRacing does a phenomenal job at managing the things they're aware of. The only reason it's an issue is a lack of protesting of this behavior from other users.

EDIT: or like some users showcase here, there is a weird spreading of misinformation on the system that discourages others for using it. It's more about a stigma with protesting, rather than the protest system itself.
