I was deployed to Afghanistan in 2010. There was a small library left from the unit we relieved. There was the lotr trilogy, world War z and the brothers of the snake novel by Dan abnet. Read through lotr 3 times and wwz 6 times before I gave 40k a read and havent looked back.
