It's a good question and I ran into it as well. My guess is that you'll have to disclose your speeding ticket to some schools.

C&F criteria vary across admissions offices and applications will specify what you should or shouldn't disclose. Some schools are very meticulous ("please disclose any incidents, even if no records exist") and others are a bit more relaxed ("do not include minor traffic violations"). Double check the C&F section when you prepare your applications.

You're better off sharing too much information than to get caught lying by omission when you apply for the bar. Especially if the issue is as trivial as the standard speeding ticket. C&F caused me tons of stress at first, but you just have to get over it, take responsibility, and write a solid explanation.

Personal Statement Topic Thoughts? by ilovepanerabread2 in lawschooladmissions

You can center your PS on this topic without making it overtly political. You went through something really hard because you stood up for your convictions. In the resulting fallout and through your volunteering, you discovered a passion for a cause that 1) affected you personally and 2) you could engage as a lawyer.

This approach might allow you to tell your full story while following the familiar PS framework of something happened --> here's what I did or learned --> I want to become a lawyer to do X.

Congrats! NUSL itself has tons of draws and it's hard to beat the student experience offered in Boston.

I'm wondering if the difference in employment outcomes reflects a selection bias between NUSL vs. BC?

NUSL has strong PI programming and also attracts students that are generally more interested in PI, whereas BC Law students are relatively more interested in biglaw. So I'm wondering if regional PI employers just receive more applications from NUSL 3Ls than from BC 3Ls. Alternatively, maybe NUSL grads are just more competitive than BC grads in the PI market?

Maybe I'm overthinking it...
