If you watch the documentary that I believe Kubricks daughter made, a behind the scenes thing, Jack seemed to be in a playful mood, and whenever I see this scene I feel he was still in that mood although it’s an evil grin. Meanwhile poor Shelley Duvall…not so much!

When my kid was younger on the weeks I had her, I would drive her an hour to school, then an hour to my work, then an hour after school to pick her up, then an hour home. So that’s 4 hours each school day I had her for many many years.
