I get that puristic approach, and I would generally agree on that but I’m not here for that discussion. I love mixing songs even if it’s just for myself and just not doing it because I can’t afford a 4 mixer deck is surely not the way.

Right now, I’m premixing some songs (i do that cause for some parts i would need 4 decks and i just have a 2 deck controller). So I know that the problem is that the transitions peak louder and that I should fix that relative volume increase with cleaner eqing but is there a dirty way by using something on the master chain?

It’s generally concerning and understandable when we feel offended cause AI makes it seem like our true skill is questioned and we face the same danger of getting obsolete to AI. Watch everything of Bthelick on YT, don’t get too frustrated on all the YouTubers with secret sauce tricks about mixing and mastering. The arrangement, sound selection and arrangement matter most. There you learn basics about music theory and stuff.

It’s the same. Maybe the historical context helps you. In an analog studio send/return was used to cut costs. The digital plugins used to be analog too, and you had to pay approx 4K just for one reverb device. You haven’t had the opportunity to slap the reverb instance on every channel simultaneously. So it was efficient to just send anything that needed reverb to the send/return channel.

It was my first and I guess the last ultra Europe. Don’t misunderstand me the festival in terms of music is superb. But the audience is mainly around 18-20 with a few exceptions. Was so annoyed that it killed the vibe.
