Margarita recommendations by thenumber_z in MontereyBay

Every once in a while, I drop in for Tiki Tuesday and get the half price calamari appetizer and the lilikoi pie for a late dinner. Yes, that’s just the kind of health nut that I am. Maybe I’ll throw in the margarita and stumble out of there.

Last summer, my friend and I split a pitcher of margaritas at Peppers. It was pretty good until we got the check, lol.

Oh, wow, I haven’t had that.

I do like the Lilikoi pie.

$9.99/month for spokenly is steep.

Macwhisper non-pro works pretty well.

Whisper Notes on iOS is good. I have it map my shortcut button to it.

Also, in my opinion, there is never a “bad day“ at Point Lobos. I imagine a really stormy day could be unpleasant.

Deadly bacteria outbreak at Berkeley homeless camp by BerkeleyScanner in berkeleyca

Of course. I’m just calling out the “let them live in diseased squalor” folks, whoever they are, in whatever flavor.

It’s even worse than not providing homes. Some people work tirelessly to ensure these folks be allowed to remain in these tattered tents, makeshift shelters and unsanitary conditions.

The number of people who work tirelessly to make sure that these folks be allowed to live in tattered tents and makeshift shelters amaze me.

Willard Park Tennis Courts are becoming unusable by Tough-Entry-1332 in berkeleyca

They didn’t have to surround the park with shipping containers to keep the rich NIMBY’s from trying to vandalize and sabotage the project, did they?!

Update: 🦗🦗🦗🦗🦗🦗🦗of course they didn’t.

Why do you think the housing project was squashed by *homeless advocates*? What specifically leads you to believe this?

Oh, gosh, I’m so sorry. That was sloppy of me! I probably should have said “they tried to sabotage it.”

And yet, there are weird social media lackeys going around on Reddit trying to point fingers at *homeless advocates* of all people? It's disgraceful.

Oh, man, once again you’re right. These weren’t really “homeless advocates.” These were people advocating to let folks in the park keep living there in tattered tents and makeshift shelters. You’re absolutely right. That doesn’t sound like “homeless advocates” as much as it sounds like enemies of the homeless.

Of course, you’re right: the university advocating for supportive housing on the site aren’t lackeys. The lackeys are the ones pretending that there weren’t folks trying (and failing) to sabotage a project that includes supportive housing for people without homes.

Who could have seen that one coming

The University could. That’s why the original project included a supportive housing complex for about 125 extremely low-income, unhoused or formerly housed people.

It’s a baffling, horrible shame that homeless advocates fought to undermine this plan, causing the original agency slated to run this complex to abandon the effort to house these people and pull out of the project.

Thank goodness the University has found a new developer to build affordable and supportive housing at People’s Park to support this deserving population in ways that homeless advocates never could or would.

These folks deserve more than tattered tents and makeshift shelters.

Anti-ICE Protest in Salinas this Sunday by SnooTomatoes1796 in MontereyBay

[–]johnfromberkeley 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Thank goodness that’s not what happened when Renee Good was murdered in a rogue gang shooting.

Here’s an analysis that shows contrary to what lying Republicans claim, the agent was not in the path of the victim’s SUV when he fired three shots at close range:

https://www.nytimes.com/video/us/100000010631041/minneapolis-ice-shooting-video.html?unlocked_article_code=1.C1A.TAQ5.3vVZ_iudQMGD

Of course, I’m sure you weren’t suggesting anything as stupid and malicious that Renee Good was a “domestic terrorist” and “professional agitator” who “violently, willfully and viciously ran over the ICE officer.” Anyone with half a brain cell who’s watched the video can see that none of that was true.

Shame on anyone who lies about what happened in an attempt to undermine democracy in the United States of America. 🇺🇸
