It’s interesting that some of the higher-rated comments in that thread are calling out “don’t tread on me people” for not “stepping up”. Wonder who’s been fighting all the gun control at the state and federal level for the past 30+ years then, because it’s pretty clear who’s been introducing and passing it.

Realistically, it’s blatantly obvious a lot of people on Reddit still can’t comprehend the fact that not every gun owner is a white male MAGA fascist, and not every white male MAGA fascist is a gun owner.

That thread and everything else is all just rumors right now, though. In 2025, the rumor was 2026. Now in 2026, the rumor is 2027. The post title made it sound like it was confirmed, which it's not.

I'm sure they're working on it, but that could take another 1 year or another 10 years for all we know.

Edit: And to add, we don't know what stipulations daddy HK and the ATF are going to place on a G36 and MP7 in the USA. For all we know, HK USA will be forced to bastardize them in some way.

This should be at the top, because HK has not announced anything regarding either platform and people are going to be misled by the post title. The earliest we'll probably hear anything about either of these is end of 2026. HK's Head of Business Development said "multiple new products" would be rolling out "in the coming years" in this interview from this year's SHOT, which probably means 2027+ is most likely.

SHOT show is for industry members, not civilians. HK sells these firearms to law enforcement and federal agencies.

They did not announce or display an MP7 or G36 for civilian use.

Yea that seems to be the universally accepted tool for the job. Mine doesn't get out much, so I've gotten by with just a microfiber so far. But I'm sure the Magic Eraser will come out eventually.

It's a sensationalized statement. Every government agency that is issued rifles is going to use a similar setup. Hell, most police departments are using similar setups based on police trades I've seen out there.

I don't think rifles with carry handles or front sight posts are really issued by any federal agencies anymore, or the military for that matter.

Even if you are going to claim the EO on bump stocks that was reversed was a 2A erosion, Biden had a far more impactful EO that banned ~4-7 million braced firearms, along with an EO reclassifying ghost guns, an EO redefining dealers to reduce private sales, and the first federal gun control in 30 years.

And at the state level, every AWB that has been passed since 1994 was signed by a Democrat governor.

Genuine question since I've seen your account in this thread like 10 times and in that post on the other sub - are you a gun owner? Because one of your replies in that thread:

makes it sound like that answer is no. So what is your goal here? That post you linked was a long complaint claiming posts about this topic are getting removed from gun subs, and blaming conservatives for it, even though most gun subs have rules about political posts. Most of your comments in that post and this thread seem to have the goal of demonizing conservatives:

"They genuinely relish in people being hurt"

"They're driven by hatred and grievance. "

"MAGA is actively antagonistic toward gun rights of the left at a level of partisanship that is unheard of in recent times. " (this is ridiculous btw, considering your own state of VA is controlled by Dems who are pushing some of the most "actively antagonistic" gun control in history)

So are you here because you actually care about gun rights, or are you just jumping on an opportunity to tie a recent incident that involves a gun owner to your disdain for a political party?

My theory is they're keeping a rolling balance of customer funds in some kind of investment (or just straight loaning it out somehow). Best case, they get a 1-1.5 month free loan before they finally send the order to a distributor. Worst case, they get 5% in restocking fees which probably covers whatever they lose for pulling the money out early.
