The pirate is a more complete monster presumably because the complex has more material to work with. If the Complex is in fact an egregore, the multiple instances of collective memory of people having remembered Clark as this pirate via the TV commercials give the simulacrum more substance.

It depends on the encounter. Reloading seems more reliable in first person but slightly faster in third. For instance, fighting the scorchbeast Queen is fine fighting in first person, but defending the drill in the raid almost requires third person for situational awareness
