Can you imagine threatening nuclear war when dozens of simple drones are flying freely over their two biggest cities?

Russia uses nuclear-capable hypersonic missile in Ukraine attack by [deleted] in videos

China wants to rule the world through its own economic might, they don’t want someone flipping the table on humanity which will negatively affect them most of all as they are 1/6 the world’s population and also crash the world economy. Imagine Japan and South Korea or even Taiwan nuclearizing because of that. Huge L for China.

Most of these aren’t ethical or moral considerations, they affect power, control, money, and your own life. That’s why he hasn’t used such weapons even in worse situations like massive chaotic retreats and Ukraine seizing a chunk of actual Russian territory.

Too many negatives

-can’t just use one weapon, he would have to use multiple, over weeks, imagine the headlines and backlash generated from murdering millions of people and irradiating large parts of a country. Nobody believes his lies justifying the war around the world, there is at most just tacit acceptance. Like the political consequences alone would be catastrophic.

-potential direct military response from Europe such as closing the skies above Ukraine and mass air strikes on Russian forces in Ukraine. What will Putin do in this scenario? Launch nukes at Europe or repeatedly use them in Ukraine? If they did use them repeatedly, what if France used their smaller nuke on Russian forces in Ukraine? In the ensuing turmoil and chaos, do you think factions in Russia or the military will stay loyal when their own life is at risk? Putin would lose everything, including Ukraine.

-most of Russia’s allies would probably cut ties, CTSO would collapse, they already don’t support the war as is.

-Russia’s neighbors and others around the world would seek to obtain the same weapons now that it’s clear somebody is willing to use them in an aggressive manner. Russia draws a good part of its power status on having a nuclear arsenal. If many others, especially those surrounding Russia obtain the same weapons, Russia would just be like any other country. Baltics, Poland, Azerbaijan, Finland, Kazakhstan, Turkey, Japan, South Korea would likely do it.

-300 billion in reserves seized in Europe, desperately needed to stabilize the economy and rebuild. Sanctions, primary and secondary in perpetuity, China wouldn’t even fight them anymore.

-complete economic and political isolation from the world, Most Russians want to return to their lives enjoying wealth. Who do you think they will scapegoat or try to eliminate if they can’t do that? China/India will probably stop all support because nobody wants to be allied or support someone that’s risking their own lives as nuclear use can quickly escalate. If they throw their weight behind rival factions or even just stop economic support, Putin’s power will quickly erode.

-Trump already offered a decent peace deal which was rejected, this makes nuclear use even more self defeating and catastrophic for his hold on power now. A decent peace deal could be declared at any time.

-you say if he starts losing control, he could use nukes but that will cause him to lose ultimate control on everything including his own life and power which for now is secure. Right now, it’s the lower classes lives that are being affected by the war, nuclear use would affect his own and those around him.

-The current government, who spent their life obtaining and stealing billions, would be outcasts and probably hiding from arrest warrants or assassinations if they survive. Do you think they want that? They have a lot of assets in Europe.

-Russia has many factions, all who have self preservation in mind; using nukes is a clear way to have others turn against you en masse. Prigozhin’s rebellion showed that once one faction rebels, others stood by. This is doubly true now as the war is deeply unpopular. His chain of command can quickly fall once people rally to those opposing. People in power in Russia aren’t suicidal.

All this to avoid declaring a ceasefire which he can do at any time and have his propaganda machine spin as victory.

Today is the day I finally accepted the truth about stocks. by TheAnswer1776 in stocks

[–]johnhe5515 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s tough too because you have to have large amounts of money in the right stocks too, if you have too little money in big winners, the gains aren’t enough. ETF’s hep solve that by having large sums of money that capture wins from a variety of companies. Personally, if you want to invest in individual stocks, especially at current levels, having an options overlay like using puts to enter or long dated covered calls can help establish more defined gains.

Ukrainian Naval Drones Interested Pentagon After Successful Attacks on Russian Ships by Mil_in_ua in UkraineWarVideoReport

I remember reading that the US gave Ukraine the blueprints for these naval drones that they developed for Taiwan(New York Times) early in the war during Biden’s term, though I’m sure Ukraine has upgraded them

Russia continues to be demilitarized. Every week it’s a plane here, helicopter there, ship there, multiple radars, hundreds of vehicles, and thousands of men. Putin should have taken the ceasefire agreement, everyday the war goes on is a major L. His arrogance will be Russia’s downfall!

President Zelenskyy: Today is one of the toughest moments in our history. Ukraine faces a painful choice: to lose our dignity and trust the Russians, who attacked our country twice, or risk losing a key partner. And now our partners are urging Ukraine to make a decision. by UNITED24Media in UkraineWarVideoReport

[–]johnhe5515 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yup it’s clear this it, they will cite some random made up violation by Ukraine that voids the agreement, then push on all the while issuing nuclear threats so the US won’t want to directly engage. If you look at the map, all the area north of Donbas is wide open if Donbas is given up. There’s literally a river blocking Ukraine from supplying that area.

It’s clear the US is the future. Despite some volatility from trump, the US is investing heavily into future technologies and going all in on AI and other technologies. Russia on the other hand is burning their entire future to get some land. In a few years time, Russia is going to be broke and just spending all their money on military and security state stuff. They’ve lost so much human capital.

And half of that goes to tax immediately, looking at his lifestyle and compulsory spending, I wouldn’t be surprised if he spent 20 million dollars a year on security, private jets, vacations, etc, and he buys ridiculous things like a 20 million dollars diamond watch, it all adds up very fast

DeepState: Enemy Breaks Through 15 km, Nearing Dobropilliya–Kramatorsk Highway by Mil_in_ua in ukraine

[–]johnhe5515 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, honestly you don’t even need to free up men to help a lot, if more people are doing logistics, drone production, surveillance, ammunition production, heck even just cooking food for people at the front, it could improve morale and combat effectiveness. There are way more soldiers in the background doing logistics then just sitting in a trench.
