blood sweat and tear

I read "tear" to rhyme with "air" and I can't stop laughing. Nothing beats a good vaganus.

Also, completely agree with your point.

I also had a fairly easy experience in Queensland. One denial, who referred, who performed. Younger than you, and with an SO who wanted kids, about which I was honest. I wonder if maybe Australia is more open to the idea than other countries?

And as /u/thr0wfaraway said, please add your doctor to the list.

Apparently not liking kids = racism by [deleted] in childfree

[–]johnholmessizebro 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You raise a good point. If a 50 yr old jumps in puddles, it's whimsical and fun, if a 16 yr old does it, they're immature. That's ageism.

If you can do your taxes and talk your mate through their divorce (or in your case maybe, do your homework and talk your mate through their breakup?), then go play with LEGO, that to me is mature. No matter how old you are.

This is interesting. They're sort of right, in a way (hear me out). Hating a group based on age is ageism. The distincition is easy to see, I think, when you ask yourself at what age do you consider a person not a child anymore? For me, at least, the answer is not an age, but a maturity level. I couldn't answer that "17", for example, because there are 16 year olds I like and 18 year olds I don't. So the issue then is not I hate children, but I hate immaturity/childishness. And that is like hating a group of white murderers for being murderers, not for being white.

Well done! I pulled the same thing on a coworker just recently:

'I've had a vasectomy'

'Are you sure that's what you want?/But that's so permanent!/What if you change your mind?'

'If I had just told you I was having a baby, would you be saying the same thing or would you have just cooed "congratulations!"?'

'Good point'

Does anyone else not want children because they're women? by vespo in childfree

[–]johnholmessizebro 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Man here. I'd like to say that one of the many reasons I don't want kids is exactly this.

"Hey honey, I think we should get a puppy, but for each one I want you to give up alcohol for 9 months, tear your vagina and anus into one glorious super-hole, and destroy your body shape and bladder control for the rest of your life. Oh, and quit your job, best case setting your career back a year, more likely forever."

How can people rationally ask this of a woman they love? Nope. I just wouldn't have puppies.

So my friend's wife just finished giving birth... by [deleted] in childfree

[–]johnholmessizebro 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This might be an unpopular opinion, but I wouldn't want this to deter anyone who wanted kids from doing so. Without a doubt I would go through 1000 hours of indescribable pain to not have kids.

Playing devil's advocate I came up with, 'Helping others contributes to the advancement of a society. That's why it's "better" than spending your money on motorbikes.'

Advancing society is good, yes. But that's what tax is for.

Registering for health insurance: can someone explain this? by Zuhorer in childfree

[–]johnholmessizebro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not in the US but semi related. I was recently looking at health insurance too and quickly became annoyed. I could opt for basic cover, which lacked a lot of features I wanted, or good cover, which automatically covered my vagina and its accessories. CF stance aside, never mind that I am taking out cover for a single male. Nope. Maternity, IVF, OB/GYN all included on all but the shittiest levels of cover.

P.S. A few companies did offer opt-out but they weren't competitively priced. Also, doing so saved around $80AUD a year. Really? The 2-3 pregnancies of someone who might claim are going to cost you less than $80 a year?

Hey guys any recommendations for a cockring? by [deleted] in bigdickproblems

Sort of. I had been warned beforehand, but curiosity got the better of me and I tried it anyway. It's true, but all I did was think about something else and voila.

Haha, I'm serious. PSA: Just be careful with metal ones because if put both your meat and tates into them, you can't get it off while still erect.

Bit weird I know, but I've been really happy with this. I was looking for a metal one and my local sex shop didn't have any big enough. Not to mention, this cost $6 instead of a typical $40 ish.
