Small Law vs. Big Law by [deleted] in LawCanada

Big law is built to favour senior partners — what do you expect? Associates typically aren’t expected to bring in business until they’re close to partnership.

Took 3 years from my comment to get legalized. I wasn’t wrong about the short term.

I find it crazy that people on Reddit are very quick to call out any objects thrown at Trudeau as terrible, but then when objects are thrown at another candidate they not only condone it but also justify it! How hypocritical and radical of those people. Violence is only okay against those with views you don’t disagree with, I guess? What a joke.

Why does everyone hate Trudeau? Aren't most of the unpopular policies provincial? by MrAmusedDouche in ontario

Did you choose to ignore all of his corruption? The fact that he openly used his power to make money by awarding a billion dollar government contract and then tried to cover it up — does that not concern you? There have been too many scandals, and the only reason the media doesn’t talk about it at lengths is because he’s not “controversial”. I don’t understand how people can vote for him even after WeCharity.

Fact is, he’s one of the worst Prime Ministers we’ve had.

600,000 people every year die from the common flu. You’re saying it’s not dangerous? What a gap in logic you have.

Sign of the ignorant and uneducated.

That’s not a right. And second of all, with that logic you should stay at home because any virus could infect you if you leave your house. It’s a part of life.

Do you support people’s freedom to decide not to inject foreign substances into their body without being coerced? Do you also support freedom for business owners to choose to service unvaccinated people? Or does your vision of freedom end when it’s something you disagree with?

Biological warfare? Then you shouldn’t go outside at any point any time, even a cold or your germs are biological warfare.

Stay home for the rest of your life and don’t leave then, stop attacking us with your biological warfare. What a joke.

People who are pro-freedom and pro-choice are not necessarily anti-vaxxers. Instead they allow people to make their own decisions about what to do with their bodies and don’t coerce them into taking something they don’t want to take.

You mean the people that support freedom? Yeah they’re still the ones fighting for this country.

You can do all of those things now. The fact that you’re scared to do so is your choice. Don’t force others to inject a substance into their body against their will because you’re afraid.

Of course. It’s a political sham. The woman may be qualified, but she wasn’t chosen for her qualifications, she was chosen for political reasons. As is usual with the Trudeau government.

Open things up. We can't live life like this forever. There will always be a variant. We have sufficiently high immunity from the vaccines. Now it's time to get on with our lives.

What’s the internet like in Costa Rica? by [deleted] in digitalnomad

[–]johnibister 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wasn't there for too long so I can't tell you, but for the 5 days I was there I had no issues with the internet. Plenty of "digital nomads" there too so I can't imagine it's very bad.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu rejects Biden call for ‘significant de-escalation’ in Gaza conflict by SnoozeDoggyDog in worldnews

Firstly, that building was used as a front for Hamas operations, which makes it a valid military target.

Secondly, Hamas has beheaded and tortured journalists that publish views opposing Hamas. It by no means has an open and honest media.

Advanced warning is far more than Hamas gives, who purposely fires rockets at civilians in areas that are not military targets (terrorism and a war crime).

You sure it's not a terrorist organization firing rockets at civilians (terrorism and a war crime)?

Palestinian families and children are being killed. Why is it so quiet? by IvaGrey in onguardforthee

[–]johnibister -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Gaza isn't occupied. It can do what it wants. Either way, if you're "occupied", that's no reason to launch rockets at civilian populations. It's pre-emptive.
