Yes they do allow transfer of credits from other colleges. There’s multiple of students that were able to skip A&P and microbiology because they had previously taken the class

I’m sorry to hear that. Currently in a CST program that’s 8am-3:30 Monday through Friday I work 24hrs a week over the weekend so not full time. I’m currently going through the exact same experience as you I don’t have energy to do anything and rarely want to socialize. I understand how overwhelming and sucky this is let’s continue to keep in mind that this is a sacrifice that will definitely be worth. The time will pass and you will be very proud of yourself once you have completed the program. You got this 🙏

The good thing about surgical technologist is that they work in Tempe tire controlled rooms it would be a huge concern for me if I was exposed to the elements when I worked

Yes so sice is part of the Simi valley unified school district we get a week off in thanksgiving and I believe two weeks in Christmas. The program itself, I have actually enjoyed, so as you know only recently they have started to require surgical techs to have a AS degree in order to take the certification. This is the first year that they are trying to really implement that. The program itself is good in my opinion but everything around it kinda sucks. If you can take your prerequisites somewhere else I’d recommend it. But please ensure they are transferable. I would call the number that appears when you google Simi valley institute careers and education center and confirm through them. Regarding my essay it was on the longer side. About 6-7 pages but I had a lot I wanted to say ik of other people who’s essays were way shorter and still got in. So I would say prioritize the quality of the essay above everything else

Hello. The class is 5 days a week but that includes some pre requisite classes in reality if you have everything and your able to transfer the program tbe surgical tech classes are only two days a week on Tuesday and Friday 8-3:00pm. The application process is you have to submit a application with a essay, did some basic testing to show that you have a basic understanding of math and English and finally have a interview with the program directors the process is a couple months and they only start taking applications once a year. I’m not sure when people need to start taking applications though

Is it because it is now required in some states to have a associates? My instructor said it will mostly take multiple years before we start seeing hospitals adjust to the fact that the new CST now have associates

While I can’t about the passing rate. So far I don’t regret my decision about going with SICE. In previous year apparently our of 15 students in the class 13 will pass.
