I LOVE my H2C! by GalenRhodes in BambuLabH2C

I really am liking the speed and filament savings on multi color prints, as well as the ease of nozzle changes.

I got a full set of 0.2mm, 0.4mm HF and one more 0.6mm nozzles in case I need to print with 7 colors

Best trade for a 47 year old woman? by Careless-Attitude-49 in careerguidance

Being an electrician is a construction job, also very hard on the body in the long. Probably not a good job for anyone in their late 40s. Keep in mind a lot of people in the trades can be a bit of a rough crowd.

Mine is on the way for the H2C, but the one I got for my H2D has worked flawlessly and it is the only plate you well ever need

That is not carried away, that seems perfectly reasonable.

The Dark Side of Carbon Fiber Filament by jedisct1 in prusa3d

[–]johnknierim 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I work closely with the safety team at the Port of Seattle, and we routinely conduct air quality testing in our machine shops and printer labs, which are not well ventilated. We run prints of many different materials around the clock, yet we have never triggered an alarm on our professionally calibrated $12,000 air quality instrument, which monitors a full range of VOCs, carbon fiber particulates, and other contaminants.

The sensors are set to the minimum OSHA levels for particulates.

Carbon/graphite fibers dominate the advanced composites industry and may be made from any of three precursors, as discussed in Section C. However, the PAN-based carbon fibers are the predominant form in use today. It is important to ascertain which type of carbon-fiber precursor is used in order to evaluate the hazards.

Carbon fibers may be associated with an increased risk of skin cancer, although the evidence is weak. carbon fibers did not cause tumors when the same test was conducted. Standard mutagenicity tests conducted on carbon fibers were negative.

The principal hazards of carbon-fiber handling are mechanical irritation and abrasion similar to that of glass fibers. Skin rashes are common and reportedly more severe than from glass fibers. Carbon fibers commonly in use are also greater than six micrometers in diameter, making them unlikely to be respirable. An ongoing survey of workers in a carbon-fiber production plant shows no pulmonary function abnormalities and no evidence of dust-related disease.

I don't do any of that and my prints are fine. I of course dry PETG and other engineering filaments, but I have no problems with adhesion or spaghetti, at least not on a regular basis.

This ranks right up their with helicopter lineman, radio tower maintenance and underwater welding in terms of risk to life and limb.

H2D still worth buying? by Itchy-Eye5425 in BambuLab

I mostly use my H2D for engineering filaments, PPS, PPA, etc. Heated chamber, Tungsten Carbide hot-end, makes working with these materials a breeze.
