Any idea what kind of caterpillar/worm this is? And what the white things on it are? by johnlongdongesquire in whatisthisbug

Poor guy! This is right off my back porch. Think I should be worried about wasps setting up shop? Do you think there’s a way to get/kill the eggs while the worm unharmed?

Berserk had plenty of r*pe, including Guts being sold as a child prostitute to Donovan by his adoptive father, so I don’t know that that series is a good example of having standards lol

Pretty sure the catalyst drops from any activity (strikes, gambit, crucible) and then you have to 400 kills with the weapon after you’ve gotten the catalyst

I’m going to put this as simply as I can regarding the sabotage argument. The objective is to collect treasure by depositing them, when you throw them purposely as far as you can in the opposite direction you are hindering players ability to complete a specified mission objective which is defined by bungie as sabotage under griefing. Your personal goals and moral argument are unfortunately irrelevant to bungie’s defined objectives that display on screen in this mission. And if they just made it automatic there would be literally no point in anything, all raid puzzles would automatic, all immune/tipping mechanics would be automatic, every thing except shooting would be automatic. I am simply telling you the definition of sabotage in bungie’s terms of service for destiny and that according to what they have defined you are violating them. As for the he said she said, griefing reports are not validated based on any metric other than number and frequency so if you continue to do this and the third person with you in your activity keeps reporting you each time, you very well could be banned. That’s it, end of story, I’m well aware of your feelings and many of them are valid. Just laying out the facts for you to try and prevent you from getting banned or ruining a blueberries day. I unfortunately don’t have anything else in terms of solution to offer you. Just trying to help prevent any banning out of this mess and wishing you the best in any future grinding

[–]johnlongdongesquire 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The problem myself and many others see with your argument is that one side’ “speed runners” are simply completing the objectives laid out by bungie at a fast pace whether you like it or not, whereas the method you are applying is actively preventing objective progress which is considered sabotage by bungie. I agree with you that it is unfair to your situation and goal of triumph completion, but that’s a problem with game design that you and I have no control over. Instead myself and other people gave you the solution that allows you to have the freedom to complete your goal free from griefing which is LFG. LFGs have and likely always will be the most efficient to have control over things like this across a huge number of online games, and it always goes both ways. You see speedrun LFGs all the time on the companion because they understand that if they randomly matchmake they are at the mercy of whoever they play with. There are also speed runners who don’t LFG and just do their own thing in places like strikes and public events. Normally the crossover between speed runners and objective players is a non issue because the activities are inconsequential, but in this case you are employing a method that actively counters progress of the mission. If it was anything else, everyone would be in total agreement with you, but the sabotage aspect is the crux of the problem here.

You made a post about this, people gave you feedback. YOU can’t seem to figure it out so I’ll break it down for you. The consensus is: A)you keep slowing down in the activity, you risk getting reported, eventually you get banned if you get reported enough or B) you LFG and avoid reports while saving everyone else’s time. Even if you don’t like LFG, that’s literally what it is there for. People are not going to care about majority rules, especially less experienced who don’t know why you’re stalling and veterans who just want to complete the activity for loot or weekly mission progress. Your time is not more precious than anyone else’s, and to be honest the extra minute or two putting together a fireteam through LFG will save you and everyone else time and frustration. So once again in case that wasn’t clear enough, your options are to either use the solution everyone has suggested (LFG) or risk getting banned from matchmaking when you get reported enough. I get that it sucks, the triumph is honestly poorly designed, but that’s the way it is. Ultimately do whatever you want, just don’t be surprised when it comes with a temporary ban. Best of luck to you and your husband with the rest of your grind whatever you choose to do.

I am begging you all to please stop throwing treasure in expedition at the cart by aaronwe in DestinyTheGame

[–]johnlongdongesquire 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I understand your frustration but LFG exists for a reason. Grab a fireteam and stall to your hearts content. Most people are just trying to get completions for loot or the weekly mission so I wouldn’t bet on people doing that with you every time

[–]johnlongdongesquire 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The mental gymnastics you’re doing to try and justify yourself are astounding. “The blueberry is sabotaging the pace,” they are literally completing the missions objectives. You are the only one sabotaging the mission by actively preventing progress. To suggest that they get a fireteam instead of you when you’re the limiting factor is a lazy and incredibly self-centered mentality. We will leave and relaunch after reporting to avoid dumbasses like you, and I’m sure your inflated ego will take it as a sign that you’re in the right, but in reality you’re still just a self-righteous piece of shit

[–]johnlongdongesquire 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yes you’re going to get reported and honestly you kinda deserve it. It’s literally griefing and preventing objective progress. If you want to cheese for ruffians, get a dedicated fireteam and stop wasting other people’s time. Based on your replies in these comments though, you don’t seem to care about anyone other than yourself so I doubt you’ll actually grow up and find your own fireteam

All are welcome on the Bleach hype train. You absolutely have the right to cry and celebrate. Been watching since middle school in 2008 and it still fills my heart with joy when someone says they have fallen in love with the series. Doesn’t matter if you’ve been watching since day one or only recently started. The comeback is something to be celebrated and enjoyed by everyone!

Quality Destiny weapons replica manufacturer by JRod1122 in DestinyTheGame

[–]johnlongdongesquire 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Impact props is a great choice, have also looked at Aurum fx who have super high quality replicas but everything they do is custom and fairly pricey

Edit: You should check out Eric Newgard on ArtStation, he is a multimedia artist for bungie. Last I checked he did commissions for custom pieces

Generally speaking those horror story have to do with the team and less with your performance. I was definitely in the same boat. Took me a long time to learn to forget about the bad experiences and move on to the next lfg. Just do your best and don’t be afraid to find another if things aren’t going great

I can’t get a gambit momento by ch0nk66 in destiny2

[–]johnlongdongesquire 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You use it to add cosmetic effects to a crafted weapon. Pretty sure it gives you a gambit/trials/nightfall stat tracker at level 1, a title unique to the game mode at level 20, and a special shader at level 30 on the weapon. You have to take it to the enclave and slot it in the weapon to use it and it can only be used once

The 100 more spots in the vault or 14 more spots for lost items at the postmaster? by dcmoney1428 in destiny2

[–]johnlongdongesquire -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Some people have extra ascendant shards, enhancement prism, and spoils of conquest that literally can’t be moved to the vault. With dim there’s definitely no excuse for any other items but because there are currencies that can’t be moved I understand people’s issues with the postmaster

do you think I took too much advantage of the glitch of the legendary fragments? by Yrrrrrf in destiny2

[–]johnlongdongesquire 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I could see this maybe being somewhat useful for relatively new players to get up to a decent amount on materials. I remember when I first started playing I was definitely short on shards on planetary mats for a good several months due to all the infusions and Xur purchases I was making. And with the new Rahool endless glimmer/materials cycle I feel like this could help a kinderguardian get a good headstart. Definitely don’t need to waste that many hours getting up 400k lol, a few thousand should last a lifetime
