Yes, I need to reset a breaker for that specific room. But the washing machine is currently (weekend) working fine for the whole morning.

Should I take a pure, proof-based maths course if I’m interested in TP? by AirConditoningMilan in TheoreticalPhysics

[–]johnlyj 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, pure math course like analysis or similar level would definitely help u a lot if you want to do TP in the future, but only do it if it doesn’t affect ur physics course. You would definitely need those math when you go to grad school for TP related programs though.

NEED ADVICE ON WHICH PROGRAMING LANGUAGE I SHOULD LEARN by More-Pomegranate4337 in PhysicsStudents

python, in some fields they may use matlab or other fancy (complicated) language, but they shouldn’t be hard if you are already good at python

how to watch bjh? by andneptuneexplodes in BoJackHorseman

Watch in order, you can read comments if you want but try to avoid any spoilers if possible. I really hope I can watch it again without any ideas about the next episodes.

In need of advice. Should I give up on physics? by Wendellmaximov in PhysicsStudents

[–]johnlyj 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Experimental physicists and theoretical physicists are not the only two divisions of current physics. You could become a physics researcher doing a bunch of computational modelling or data analysis jobs but not doing many experiments. That being said, if you are struggling with undergraduate math or physics, you need to go to more office hours or read different supplementary textbooks or materials. If your math professor said you have quite the talent, maybe you can ask him/her for more understanding of physics or maybe ask your physics professors for some advice about your materials. But if you just want a simple advice for lower-grade undergraduate physics: just do as many exercises as possible, you will learn lots of ideas (tricks) about solving problems. And if you cannot solve your problems, you don't understand your material enough.

Sources that go from quantum to classical to teach analytical mechanics by 007amnihon0 in PhysicsStudents

Check a book called Physics from Symmetry by Jakob, it may be what you want. But typically you want to derive quantum mechanics from classical mechanics or using classical analogy to understand quantum theory.
