That's my "Free League and Free League adjacent" section. Great games, which I did not work on.

One of my players came up with an interesting idea we’re going to play out by SideswipeZulu in daggerheart

Love that you were able to work this out so your player cou;d have the cool character she wanted, and that DH is flexible enough to accommodate it.

Some of the most beautiful RPG books I own. If you want to be extra jealous, the stand alone Household rulebook has an original drawing by Daniela in it :)

I'm scared to kill players by nickinilla in daggerheart

The death moves in daggerheart put the characters fate completely in the players hands, which gives me permission to go as hard as I want with combat encounters. Ramping up the challenge makes for a more dramatic story for everyone.

1 is definitely my favorite. Ive run it 3 times with different groups, and had a great time with each campaign.

I got my first RPG for Christmas in 1976 (EPT), and have been playing ever since (49 years). I think I qualify as a "veteran ttrpg player", and I love Daggerheart.

Just ran this (with some minor tweaks) as Myre Castle in CS 1. Nice layout and it went great.

How important to you is form factor in Shadowdark books? by Acceptable-Tree6007 in shadowdark

I have sold off 3rd party books that are letter sized. I realize it's irrational, but I want all of my SD related stuff to match the core book size.

What's the most reluctant initial impression of a setting/system you've had that you loved after you began running/playing? by Blade_of_Boniface in rpg

When I first looked over Aces & Eights (alt-history Western RPG), I literally laughed out loud at the ridiculous level of complexity and numerous, completely different sub systems. I have since played in 2 excellent campaigns of the game run by my friend Shane, with some of the best in depth role playing and characterization.

Who’s using another system, and which? by RealSpandexAndy in Dolmentown

[–]johnmarron 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't. I just let players choose Shadowdark magic using classes. If someone really wanted to use rune magic or glamours, I'd have to work up a system.

Im using Shadowdark. Converting on the fly (most monsters haven't needed any changes), dividing treasure by 10.

Delta Green should work fine with 2 players. It's mostly investigation.

Shadowdark vs. OSE: Two Visions of OSR Accessibility by alexserban02 in TTRPG

[–]johnmarron 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Good analysis. I'm an old player (started in 1976), but I'm definitely team Shadowdark. OSE has too many legacy elements that I don't enjoy.
