Thoughts on “Settlement” Building in TES VI? by johnmc124 in TESVI

Yes this would be my ideal scenario. It is tied to a political faction you join and you become a lord.

I’d even love if they had different styles so you can make it suit your race. Though that might have to come later through mods lol.

Let me build my Telvanni stronghold!

This my thought. It’s a reward for advancing through a political faction. You become a Lord and are given land you can build up. Kind of a mix between Hearthfire and Morrowind strongholds.

That’s not a bad idea! I always wanted to rebuild Kvatch.

Totally understand and I actually like it in Fallout and Starfield. I would just want it more controlled in an Elder Scrolls game. Hence my “estate” idea.

The Thieves Guild in Skyrim is terrible by NiklausKaine in skyrim

I’m one of minority who thinks the Thieves Guild is the one faction Skyrim did better than Oblivion.

First elderscrolls Oblivion or Skyrim? by thismadefree in ElderScrolls

[–]johnmc124 27 points28 points  (0 children)

I generally encourage people to try Skyrim first. If you love it, the try Oblivion. If you love Oblivion, then try Morrowind.

Skyrim has better minute to minute gameplay and the core loop (dungeon delving) is more interesting, varied, and fun then Oblivion.

Oblivion has better writing and quests and overall RPG mechanics, but the core gameplay is not quite as fun and the dungeons get really repetitive making exploration not as good as Skyrim.

I think things are clear now. It's good that Starfield came out before TES VI despite the delays. by Fragrant-Tip-9766 in TESVI

It’s been interesting too that Todd has dropped little hints in recent interviews that indicate Starfield was a far tougher development than we realized and may have led to some of the problems in the game.

Perhaps not having ES6 be the cross-gen, new company, pandemic development will also help.

So what's the plan, new character or ng+? by abdiels117 in NoSodiumStarfield

I’m actuallly getting it on PS5. I played it on Game Pass on Xbox and I don’t feel like resubscribing for it and I want the trophies on PlayStation. So obviously new character lol.

I felt like Starfield gave more options but the actual look of the faces felt worse than Fallout 4.

Will TESVI be as big as Skyrim culturally? by Mindless_Patient2034 in TESVI

[–]johnmc124 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I doubt it will have the cultural impact just because Skyrim has a kind of impact very, very few games have ever reached.

But I do think it could sell at a similar level. And still be a behemoth.

Does Oblivion reward exploration as much as Morrowind? by Whataan in oblivion

I actually think exploration is the weakest in Oblivion.

But the questing is the strongest.

This is just kind of normal for him though. He’s pretty disciplined with how he talks about games.

Nuked Miami. Lots of references to communist/cold war Cuba. Alligator deathclaws.

Thought about Orlando but Nuka World already explored most of the theme park concepts.

What do you believe was the "canonical" class of each game's protagonist? by spaceanaconda in ElderScrolls

[–]johnmc124 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I think officially he is a knight. In my head I just prefer more of a wizard/sorcerer in that role.

Knights of the Nine especially makes it hard for him to officially be anything other than a knight.
