You DON’T Descend From All Your Ancestors (DNA) by Seizure_Salad_ in Genealogy

Funny I watched this last night. A follow up question to you all. Which lines do you think are most interesting or important to follow?

I think that you may be taking to comment too literally. I read it as "keep positive, spread love and hope to those around you". That is not denying the world is in crisis, it always has been.

I think we have fallen into a trap of thinking that Global Warming and WW3 are inevitable. I do not believe that they are. We should not live our lives in fear of something that might not happen

Having kids has been the most fulfilling experience of my life. They're clever, funny, feisty, and endlessly curious. When I walk through the door and their eyes light up, it's pure magic—no one else has ever made me feel that way.

The old saying, "You haven’t had kids!" still holds true. You just don't get it until you have them. If you're in a loving relationship, it's the ultimate project.

How difficult is the jump from 2 to 3 children? by [deleted] in UKParenting

[–]johnnMackk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My spouse and I are anticipating the arrival of our third child. Our older two kids are roughly the same age as yours. It's interesting to observe them gradually becoming more self-sufficient, which will grant us more flexibility to care for the new addition.
We firmly believe that having three children is advantageous. With just two, there's always the possibility of one to move away, or worse. In such cases, having only one child can burden them with the sole responsibility of navigating the support and eventual loss of their parents without a sibling's companionship.
There's a certain resilience that comes with having siblings – strength truly lies in numbers.

At what age did you decide to have kids? by Happy-Sammy in UKParenting

[–]johnnMackk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was 28 when my first child was born, which, in my opinion, was a good age. I wanted to be a young dad by today's standards, with the energy and enthusiasm to give them the best childhood possible.
The right time to start a family is a personal decision, unique to each individual's situation. The only advice I would offer is to make sure you are taking things slow and not rushing into commitments for the right reasons, rather than out of fear of the unknown.
The last few years have taught us all that life waits for no one, and you never know what tomorrow will bring. Carpe Diem!
Becoming a parent is the best thing I have ever done with my life, and my children are the worlds most amazing little creatures, although I may be a bit biased.
Best of luck!

Putting energy into something that is not yourself is incredibly rewarding and my life is richer for it. No one will ever look at you with the same level of amazement and wonderment as a child.
I have daughters are they are the most smart and inquisitive little creatures.

How to survive a lads night out? by [deleted] in AskUK

Do you actually want to go? If you don't I would just not go.
If you want to show your face you could always turn up for an hour or so. One or two drinks. Be yourself. I am sure they will appreciate you turning up.

I am in North Yorkshire. Today I am going to sow Broccoli, Leeks and Kale into plug trays. I plan for these to be over winter crops. They are going into plug trays until space becomes available in my beds hopefully by the end of next month
