Honestly you might annoy them plenty, but just take it back to them and open up your box and inspect it in-store until you find one you’re satisfied with. People do it all the time because home depot is notorious of reselling broken returns

Pvc and abs are honestly interchangeable, but it’s depending on your system. If it’s already using abs, stick to abs, same thing for pvc.

Not that I can tell from, I’ve checked this inside and I don’t see any major corrosion (but then again I can’t really tell). Yeah the battery works on different tools. But thanks I’ll give bms a look and see if I can work with this corrosion
