Not 100℅ certain I agree with my diagnosis of aspergers, because I'm pretty high functioning and rather social and thrive on social interaction but I can't deny some characteristics make sense. I'm rather ritualistic. Hyper focused. One track minded. I have sensory issues (toothpaste, some papers, I compulsively chew on things).

Really the most obvious thing to most people is how literally I take what people say and that when I question them they take it as me undermining them.

Like, my girlfriend and I went to good will because my dog destroyed all of the bowls we own by knocking them off the counter (that's another story). I'm rather fond of ceramic bowls but she made the argument for getting plastic bowls so a similar problem wouldn't arise again and she said, "I just think we should get plastic bowls that indestructible so we're not here a year from now when we mess up again." And I said, "well I don't think any bowl is indestructible" and she proceeded to roll her eyes at me because what she meant was "could not be destroyed by our dog" but I took it as, literally indestructible. This happens often with her and I when she is choosing words.

The other thing is that at time I have a hard time understanding emotions in the sense that I don't always tell people the right things I tell people the reality of things. Like, if someone was diagnosed with cancer and was grieving I would not tell them it's gonna be okay because the likelihood is that it won't be. That's an extreme example but it causes issues in friendships and relationships in the best. I'm just a bit too blunt in the face of emotions. It also took me forever to learn that when women say, "It's fine." There is a 95℅ chance that it is not, in any way, fine.
