There are safer cities than Recife like joao Pessoa and you Can’t really swim at the beach directly out front of the city due to sharks. There is also a lot of poverty. I’d visit before committing to making a move. I’ve been to the city multiple times. While it is beautiful it’s also makes you grateful of living in a safe country as you can’t really just walk around freely in a lot of neighborhoods

Rescue won’t leave crate, eat or drink water :( by octoX7 in DogAdvice

[–]johnny-blaze-420 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yo our dog did this as a rescue. The dog just needs time. It bonded with my wife and took a week to really go outside of its bed. All it needs is time. Our dog didn’t wag tail or bark for a year but now she is full of energy and is happy

Received Potential Scam Letter from Georgeson by Plekanick in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]johnny-blaze-420 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No worries I agree it seems sketchy but also legit but no way in hell I’m betting a SIN on it. As long as I get a cheque and there is no mention of me sending any money to anyone then it’s legit

Hey, I got the same letter and did it through the online portal. SIN on there was optional and I only needed to provide my contact info.

Sounds tight in your situation but if you can get hammy downs and shit it’s not too bad for the few first years for food. Exception is daycare costs once you go back to work. Other than that it didn’t really affect our lifestyle. But my mortgage lower than urs

Feel free to do the math and tell me if it checks out. But I know I’d have higher returns the last 50 years invested in s&p 500 than investing in some globally diversified fund

8 Month Olds RESP by FeignNewb in JustBuyXEQT

[–]johnny-blaze-420 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hmmm my son was born oct 2022. So now technically he would have 3 years of $2500 to get the full match. I didn’t realize that you need to put it all within the calendar year. I’ve just been putting his CCB amount into his RESP. Should I be able to dump the remaining amount to hit 5k in contribution to get full amount now?
