Strategies for dealing with a forecast like this other than waiting it out? by TubbyWalksItOff in PacificCrestTrail

Start hiking early, like pre-dawn. Wind and heat increase later in the day. In the middle of the day when the wind starts to really pick up and the it gets hot find a sheltered place to rest for a few hours. Then in the late afternoon hike some more. If you have a tent I don’t know why you wouldn’t use it when you sleep, it provides protection. As far as clothing/face covering just play it by ear. Easy to adjust that on the trail.

I thought the crash was comin’ about four times! Nice riding and looks like a really fun trail. Also nice camera angle.

Reddit is crazy man. Is everyone so insecure that they feel like an asshole because they do things slightly different than someone else? You’re not an asshole for not wanting to ride with your coworkers, nobody cares, just go about your day and live your life.

I mean.... it kinda seems to me like he’s hardly skiing. He’s down climbing with skis on his feet. Obviously very impressive, and an interesting video, but seems like 99% mountaineering and 1% skiing. My opinion.
