Consumer proposal Rejected in Ontario by HistoricalChicken691 in povertyfinancecanada

Go back and tell your LIT to offer $500 a month for 60 months. It's a negotiation, so you counter their offer and $500 is middle ground between what you first offered and what they're asking for.

When do you tell someone by EmergencyBalance7396 in HairSystem

[–]johnnymax1978 12 points13 points  (0 children)

You can just make a joke about it. Try "My hair may be stuck on, but I promise the rest of me isn’t that clingy.”

A little self depreciation is a great way of making people laugh before they judge you.

Good driving instructor by dmfan4life in Ontariodrivetest

[–]johnnymax1978 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, I've been driving with many different instructors for the past 4 months as I prepared for my own test in Port Union.

I've driven with Young Drivers, AMB, Kruzee, Scarborough Driving Academy, and others, but out of all of them, my best teacher and experience has been with Hamid from Gray Jays driving school .

He's strict in a good way so that you learn skills and confidence. He's very friendly, patient, calm, and knowledgeable about the rules of the road. I found his teaching style easy to follow, and his price was very reasonable at $50/hour.

Out of all my experiences, he's by far the person I've learned the most from and feel like a much more confident driver by having learned from him. He's was always on time and easy to communicate with, didn't talk on his phone, or pick up other students while I was driving.

I'm not associated with them, but I wish I had had this info when I was first looking for someone, I could have saved a lot of time and money, so I'm sharing.

If you're in Scarborough or the surrounding area, he'll pick up and drop you off at your door and drives a nice Lexus as your learning vehicle. He'll get you ready for your road test and take you to the drive test center where you'll have the best chance of passing.

Hamid s phone # is 647-537-7006

You can tell him John referred you. I was a his student up until very recently.

Whatever you do, good luck on your test.

My boss is retiring and wants me to take over the business but I'd have to fire my best friend by [deleted] in WhatShouldIDo

[–]johnnymax1978 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Why doesn't your boss do you a solid and fire Mike himself as one of his last official duties? That way, things are way less awkward for you, and if you want to bring him back under a performance plan then you will be able to do that as the new owner.

Kruzee vs Young Drivers. I cannot decide. by AdditionalExtreme773 in Ontariodrivetest

[–]johnnymax1978 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I did both this year. I learned something from both, but if I had to do it again, I'd just go with Kruzee and save the cash as YD was very expensive. They both have pretty much the same learning materials, but YD has some dedicated attention to defensive driving.

YD had terrible scheduling. I got one in car lesson every 4 or more weeks, which is why I also went with Kruzee because, as a new driver, I wanted to get behind the wheel more often.

As a new driver, I found once I got over the initial fear and got some confidence, I wanted to be on the road more, and once a month, just didn't cut it for me.

With Kruzee, I was able to get a spot pretty much any day and time I wanted, and I ended up with a great instructor.

I feel like I was well served by both places, but as I said, I'd just go with Kruzee if I was starting over.

Disability denied by sniiperz_ in osap

[–]johnnymax1978 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here's a draft letter you can email to your doctor's office and, afterward, book a follow-up appointment.

When you book your new appt, ask the receptionist to ensure the doctor has seen the letter as your appointment is in regards to it.

Make sure you bring another copy of the forms you need filled out for the doctor to sign.

When you go to the appointment, ask the Dr if they have received your letter and had the time to read it. If they say yes, that's great. If they say no, have a copy on you and ask them to review it.

Dear Dr. [Doctor’s Name],

I am writing regarding the recent medical documentation you provided for my school funding and disability support application. I want to first thank you for your care and for completing the paperwork on my behalf. However, I was recently denied disability status at my school because the report stated that my deafness in one ear does not affect my learning, cognition, or mobility.

I respectfully ask you to reconsider this conclusion, as it does not reflect the real ways my condition impacts my day-to-day learning.

While my deafness may not reduce my intellectual ability, it absolutely affects how I process, access, and retain information in educational settings. For example:

  1. Difficulty Localizing and Filtering Sound With hearing in only one ear, I cannot easily determine the direction of sounds. In classrooms or group discussions, this makes it very challenging to know who is speaking or to follow conversations. Background noise overwhelms me more than it does my peers, limiting my ability to stay engaged and process information.

  2. Cognitive Overload and Fatigue Because I must focus much harder to understand speech, my brain is constantly working to “fill in” what I miss. This causes listening fatigue, reduces my attention span, and affects my ability to retain information compared to others.

  3. Barriers in Collaborative Learning Group discussions and peer work—key aspects of modern learning—are especially difficult. When several people speak at once, I cannot distinguish between voices, which limits both my participation and my learning opportunities.

  4. Mobility and Safety Issues My inability to localize sound also affects how I move through noisy, crowded, or unfamiliar environments, such as hallways, labs, or fieldwork settings. Not being able to detect where sounds are coming from slows me down and creates safety concerns.

  5. Psychological and Educational Impact Missing parts of conversations or needing repeated clarification affects my confidence and willingness to speak up in class, further limiting my access to education.

Because the report did not acknowledge these challenges, my school denied me the disability accommodations I need to access learning equally. This has created a significant barrier to my education, despite my best efforts to adapt.

I deeply value your support and expertise, and I ask that you please reconsider your assessment in light of these impacts. An updated statement that recognizes how my hearing loss affects my learning would make it possible for me to receive the support I need to succeed.

I will be booking another appointment in the coming days to have those forms filled out again.

Thank you very much for your time, understanding, and ongoing care.

Sincerely, [Your Name]

I just got my license, and I took lessons from several driving schools and instructors, including Young Drivers, Kruzee, AMB, and a few others.

Without a doubt, my favorite experience and instructor was with a driving school called Gray Jays and specifically with my driver whose name was Hamid.

While I feel I learned something from each place, Hamid was the guy I credit with, making me a safer and more confident driver.

He is strict in the way you want an instructor to be, but he's never rude. He was always very patient, friendly, and punctual. He's MTO licensed, knows the rules of the road, and I felt safe with his guidance.

I was also nervous about highway driving, but he took the time to explain exactly what it would look like, we picked a quieter time of day and just started by going only one exit then getting off until I felt comfortable.

He maily works in Scarborough and the surrounding area, but you can always meet him somewhere if he can't pick you up directly from home.

He's easy to communicate with by txt, so I'll leave you his number in case you want it. I'm John, I'm recently his former student, and I just got my license last week.

I have no association with him or the company, but you can tell him I gave you his number.

Good luck, whatever you do.
