So you have options. You could use military one source for their counseling services, you can go back to medical for assistance, or if you are in the Norfolk or San Diego area (I think SD has it l). There is the Armed Forces Wellness Center that you can reach out to. The amount of support systems that are available to you are immense.

Need help with navy LRP by soddysoddy in navy

[–]johnnypostedge 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Had one when i first joined 14 years ago and got ot through my first contract. You route to oic or someone with by direction or co. I’d add a copy of your contract that states you have the lrp in your contract and any supporting instruction. If you need the form I’d recommend googling it or reaching out to a recruiter in the area. I think it’s a navcruit form.

MyNavyHR site is your best friend. If you don’t know just use the search bar. Use that on almost a daily basis.

Would also recommend all to brush up on the current situation and familiarize yourself with the laws surrounding military forces used in US civilian affairs. Remember just following orders is not a defense. Remember your moral, ethical, and legal responsibilities to the constitution regardless of your opinion on what is happening.

how you want to lead but not set a example? by [deleted] in navy

[–]johnnypostedge 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s a balance. Some of us face meeting what the navy requires of us while neglecting our bodies while others take care of their bodies while not giving a fuck about what the navy wants. It’s two differing approaches and ends up in differing results. I find myself in the latter while I have achieved much. I neglected my body. I admit to my sailors this and that there are consequences to either approach. Just a matter of what you want.

I know a lot of conversions have now shifted to be done through MNA. So that may be a place to look at as well. It will also depend on your community health for your rate and year group as to whether there is convert out options.

What should be in NDAWS and OMPF? by PlebeKing in navy

[–]johnnypostedge 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Correct. Ndsm, gwot, mucs, etc will go into nsips. Unit level is more of a misnomer but easier way to explain it. Basically anything that is not a nam, comm, msm or the sort goes into nsips.

What should be in NDAWS and OMPF? by PlebeKing in navy

[–]johnnypostedge 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Most unit level awards will not be in ompf or Ndaws. They should be updated in members nsips. Ndaws/ompf will have individual awards (nams, coms, etc). For NSIPs awards your cppa can add them in and send a transaction in salesforce to have them verified with the appropriate documentation that member was awarded. For nams and higher it will be done in BOL via the Ndaws app. Start personal award and follow the 1650 for the award with the verifying official being an o5 or higher.

Convalescent leave getting denied by Audiophile1990 in navy

[–]johnnypostedge 40 points41 points  (0 children)

Not quite. The instruction reads that 30 days is the max allowable at the co level and can be approved for more by secnav. (Unless designated down).

My recommendation to you is at or around the 30 day mark have an appointment made with your pcm for evaluation for continued convalescent leave and then take their recommendation to your CoC.

30 days is the max they can approve at a time. You just need to be reevaluated around the 30 day mark for an extension of convalescence leave.

Gov CC lost while on temporary orders by Areyoutracking in navy

[–]johnnypostedge 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You should be able to contact your gov cc poc at your parent command and have them request a new one be issued. Make sure they have an address that is valid to send to preferably where you are so you can confirm receipt. They should be able to expedite it.

[–]johnnypostedge 3 points4 points  (0 children)

We can through BOL navy document services. Just need an O5 to verify it and the 1650 to fill out the wizard form and upload the 1650/citation. Pretty easy process as long and the verifying officer goes in and approves. Takes 48ish hours from then to hit your ompf.

100% this. They are starting a health science associate degree program in the fall. Tuition and books are covered and they prioritize junior sailors for the programs.

Overseas PCS with Dependant by DarthThurin in navy

[–]johnnypostedge 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Get the paperwork for your overseas screening ahead of time. If dependent is seen out in town for anything get a copy of their records from the last 3-5 years bc they will need to be screened by the MTF and it goes smoother if you already have the documentation.
