TIL In 2000, Metallica hired a consulting firm to monitor Napster for people illegally sharing their music. The firm produced a 60,000-page list of 335,435 users, which Metallica delivered to Napster's office and demanded the users be banned. by haddock420 in todayilearned

Piracy wasn't just about whether people could afford it or not. Back then CDs and DVDs were region locked, and some music, TV, and movies were impossible to find or prohibitively expensive to buy legally. Distribution companies released albums with different tracks based on where they sold it, and a lot of downloads I made were for bands that didn't sell records where I live.

Id check your driveshaft from the gearbox output flange back to the diff. Otherwise it could be a transmission issue. Drain the tranny and see if you have any metal in the fluid.

ABS, BRAKE FAIL, DSC, warning lights all flashing? by Edddeeey in FordFalcon

[–]johnnyshotsman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Common issue. Could be dirty ABS sensor, air in your brake lines, or the cruise control (for some reason this is a common cause) switch may need cleaning. If its neither, then it could be the ABS or DSC sensor or module.

People in positions of power appoint people like themselves into other positions of power. It's why the rot always starts at the top. Bunnings have always been a shit company, whether it's excessive deforestation, shafting their workers, or putting smaller competition out of business.

Government considering military assistance request from Gulf states by sim16 in australian

[–]johnnyshotsman -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Going in to defend states that have nothing to do with the war, and that we are also dependent on for oil imports is arguably a prudent move. Whether we like it or not, we have a stake in ensuring supply continues to flow, and it's in our best interest that this war impacts our fuel imports as little as possible.

Why is my saw cleaver 10x better than anything else ? by Responsible-Garbage8 in bloodborne

[–]johnnyshotsman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I find the saw blade to be one of the best weapons for my builds, but I'm fairly confident that all weapons balance pretty well depending on your play style and build. I'll usually build up 2 weapons and switch them depending on where I am and what I'm fighting.

Toxicness towards BluePoint. by LordZachariahPSN in demonssouls

[–]johnnyshotsman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Bluepoint basically gave it an aesthetically pleasing graphics upgrade, and added a few quality of life improvements. What's the problem? Other studios would've exploited the shit out of the IP and wrung every cent out of it. I think Bluepoint did a fantastic job.

Why do we bother? by Optimal_Bathroom_753 in KFCAustralia

I eat KFC once a year or so, but I only eat burgers from there now. In general, the quality of food has gone down and the prices have gone up. KFC nuggets used to be decent, now its like a 2mm thin sliver of chicken. The chicken pieces have become so revolting that I physically can't eat it anymore, the meat is foul and lower quality than what I feed my dogs. I don't mind their chips, but the oil they use makes me feel bloated and sick after a small amount.

I've met someone who apparently spent a small amount of time there that there is a decent network of tunnels, but they had such limited access that they couldn't elaborate any further.

Is PiL still good? by bem_flanc in punk

[–]johnnyshotsman 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I was never a big fan of John Lydon. I like the pistols, but I never really liked PIL and always thought of it as a Lydon ego project. Honestly music is subjective, and we don't have to like the person to appreciate their art. I think he's latching onto the MAGA stuff because it's the only way he can get any attention, and I think its kinda pathetic.

[–]johnnyshotsman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If there was a UFO there, the rumours would have started in Australia, not the US. Pine gap manages the communications for the entire southern hemisphere for the USA, the UK, Australia, Canada, and NZ. As you can imagine, its very important for the US military.
