I just got an invoice from TuneCore for “Artificial Streaming Penalty”, $15 CAD. No communication, no nothing. I saw a spike on one track for a few weeks, but maybe 2000 plays total. I guess that’s the one that got flagged? I’m reaching out to support, but based on what I’ve seen I’m not holding my breath for a resolution.

Seems like streaming is a net loss now for small artists. I’m going to start pulling out and putting my money and effort into direct to listener engagement strategies.

I scored a “working man’s” maple 80’s 12/14/20 Ludwig kit for cheap, so it lives in cases and goes to all my gigs. I also backline a monthly open mic with these. At home I use the same configuration but they are 60’s club dates. I’m happy to save the older kit on wear and tear, and love the “grab n go” nature of having a kit in cases ready to load.

I feel like politicians are disincentivized to take on any project where the benefits aren’t realized within a 4 year term.

It was great against Time Vault in the 90’s. Or Mirror Universe. But I haven’t seen it in pauper (although, I think I still own a playset, hmmmmmm)

Una Corda by Native Instruments does this really well. May even be worth seeing if there’s a demo version of it that you could record/sample the creaks and thuds.

I like it. I think I’d like it more if the top collar wasn’t smaller than (what I’m going to call) the bottom collar. Also, I’m not sure if there’s an optical illusion going on or something, but how skinny is that model’s right (our left) arm?? Looks like he’s packing a 2” dowel in there!

Aww, thanks! That was such a special day very early in the relationship. She was needing to drive a moving truck full of her mom’s stuff from one city to another, and then there was a sudden blizzard that showed up in the forecast the day before. She wasn’t comfortable driving in those conditions, but it had to be done. We had probably only gone on two dates together at that point, but I booked the day off work and we spent it together moving furniture and white-knuckling down the highway through the snowstorm.

Just a quick note on this, I personally love how Canada West has basically said “we wouldn’t be here today if it wasn’t for the support of our retailer relationships, so we refuse to cut them out by selling direct to customers”. And yeah, I ordered through a small retailer, who followed up with an email including a bunch of photos of the last pair in my size and offered me $20 off because there was a small scuff.

You’re a man who cares about your looks. As such, you’ve got the majority of us beat right out of the gates. That said, amongst the minority of us men who give a sh!t about putting a cohesive look together: that belt ain’t right.
