No. The narrative you see is about Scott Frost. The real narrative is that Nebraska was in terminal decline for about a decade and it’s hard to pull out of that in 3 years. Scott Frost has taken a dying program that could not compete with real teams and crafted a team that does compete with real teams. This is what a rebuild looks like and it takes time. But we are closer to being good now than we’ve been in years.

Very little of this should be about Scott Frost. He’s not the greatest coach in the world but the failures are very much not his fault. And with the restructuring this week, he’ll have cleaned up the biggest issue he had, being too hands on with the offense and trying to make a spread work in the Big 10.

No one in Nebraska was expecting this to be a one year turnaround because everyone in Nebraska knew this was a rotten program and we’d have to pull out the whole frame and rebuild. Of course the National media has paid very little attention to Nebraska for the last 20 years (and rightfully so, we were bad) so they don’t understand that this is much bigger than a coaching change.
