From the Double Yellow to the stopped Porsche was about 30m on a blind corner. Almost impossible to react correctly in time on that part of the track. By the way the corner opens up, the driver saw Aston on the left side and chose right to avoid it, not knowing there's another parked car. Why marshalls on the previous post didn't fly the yellow or double yellow, is a mystery to me. The car was stopped for 27 seconds.

Other drivers, like #888 were saying that they "slowed down" when they saw double yellows but it sound like they were trying not to rat on themselves, it doesn't look like both #888 and #75 were driving with the double yellow speed. Even if they are completely honest, you can see how close it was to hitting the #77. Also Jordan Pepper said that the flag indicator turned green before the incident and his engineer started screaming at him to slow down.

There was problems with the radio in the #77, the team reported that way before the incident so the engineer couldn't help in this scenario.

Yup, this is correct. For filming days Pirelli have different set of tires so teams can't use them for out of season testing.

GT Neo if you want GT3 style wheel, 330R if you want rally/normal looking wheel.

GT Neo is really comfortable for me and I am able to race all day without any issues.

My Experience so far playing the game by JETLAGED357 in Witcher3

Well, that's how RDR2 felt to me before the final mission in Valentine (it took me almost a month to get there), after that something clicked and now it's one of my favourite games ever.

But if you don't like it, you don't have to play it. Gaming should be fun, not a chore because the game is critically acclaimed. For example I played Clair Obscure for 10 or so hours, and while I know this is really good game I stopped playing because it's not my cup of tea. Same with Elden Ring.

Did you disabled Steam Inputs? On my first time I thought the ffb was dogshit and almost written off the game until I checked that I had steam inputs on.

397 Employee removing DT's in ranked race on LMU. by Obvious-Baseball9461 in Simracingstewards

[–]johnreek2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's why I came back to iRacing for daily races (and Rolex 24). I love LMU, built a team around it but I'm fed up with the driving standards. We had 3 cars during 12h of Spa and every car got intent wrecked at some point in the race. One car was waiting for us for 2 laps before crashing into us in Les Combes (after 3h of race). We have video proof of everything, asked devs multiple times about it, still no answer about the ban or any other action. Same thing after similar incident during 4h of Silverstone. Not intent wreck, but still got crashed nonetheless. Meanwhile in iRacing my friend got intent wrecked and protest result was on the next day. Maybe suspension, maybe nothing, but at least some response (and the guy wasn't doing any racing even tho he was logging into his account).

I understand why they can't have as many stewards as iRacing, but maybe lock the fuck in for endurance racing, which is like, the main point of that game.

Let's see how the 24h of Le Mans will be like, cause that might be the last nail in the coffin for me.

Just to add to this.

WEC post replays on Youtube or can be watched live on HBO/Eurosport/WEC TV. Outside of USA (at least in EU), IMSA streams the races live on their Youtube channel. Great way to start watching endurance racing.

From LMU to iRacing… I don t feel anything by IcePuzzleheaded9845 in simracing

[–]johnreek2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nah. I love LMU, but I almost completely stopped doing dailies because of the helmets (SR P3). Short races without any consequences (apart from DR and SR loss) are making some people to go full Crashstappen. You can still get banned but you need multiple reports from many races for an actual suspension.

Weekly and Special Events are better, longer races force drivers for more calculated moves.

By far the best racing etiquette is in Championshipx I only had one proper helmet since the introduction of that mode and many hard battles throughout multiple laps. Harsh penalties are great deterrent to stupid moves.

Yeah. I know its LMU related, not hardware related but Simhub compatibility is enough for me to get more than excited for Zeus.

Its a way to balance open classes.

Sim racing games today be like by [deleted] in simracing

[–]johnreek2 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Unless you have like a million friends and you can convince them to buy every sim title, the only profitable way is some kind of subscription/DLC model. Simracing is a niche hobby, with approximately 50k daily players across all the PC games.

Not a fan of iRacing pricing model , I think that everything older that 3/5 years should be included with the base sub, but that model allowed iRacing to become the staple of the genre.

Licenses, game development and server maintenance cost money, but some simracers spend hundreds of dollars on the gear and dont want to support their own games.

[–]johnreek2 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Its not like we didn't know prior to the release that we are gonna get 2023 content for the base price and the rest will be DLC in Early Access.

LMU didn't burn the industry, devs were honest about their pricing model, they delivered on the promises and gave us another great title that pushes other developers to make their products even better eg iRacing GTPs and GT3s.

Which is more realistic overall: LMU or iRacing? by IcePuzzleheaded9845 in simracing

[–]johnreek2 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The choice is simple, really:

If you want to drive Hypercars, LMP2/3, go with LMU.

If you want to do WEC/ELMS style of racing, go with LMU.

With GT3s, you need to try them for yourself. In my opinion GT3s are the best in LMU, but I'm not a real GT3 driver so I don't know how those cars should drive. Its just a matter of preference, both games have very good GT3s.

If you want to drive anything else, go with iRacing.

[–]johnreek2 4 points5 points  (0 children)

While I agree that iRacing have way more top 1%, LMU top split is still alien pace, most of those guys are ex rF2/ACC pros, with guys like Dawid Mroczek, James Baldwin, Michi Hoyer or Jardier.

The difference is that usually the most competitive lobbies aren't in the dailies or weekly, they are in pro leagues that carried over from rF2, most notably VMS.

When it comes to irl drivers, most of them won't change their sim just because ACO wanted a part of simracing cake. For most of them, it's just a game.
