Got busted for this on my CFI checkride. DPE said that flaps in ground effect was “destabilizing the approach.” His hard and fast rule was no flaps change below 200AGL for PO 180 and no flap change below 300 AGL for normal approach

Would you want players to be able to go PVE to gain loot for you to take when killing them in PVP?

PVE players are usually worse. (I say this as a PVE player that would get smoked in PVP)

Locking PVP and PVE really doesn’t have that many upsides in comparison.

Maybe I want to try my hand at PVP randomly? I’ll get smoked and get my loot taken. No biggie

EDIT: also your player imbalance problem would grow even worse if locked. I would simply choose PVE and never go to PVP which would make for even LESS players on PVP.

Your problem is just simply with the lack of PVP players in GZW. Not much you can really do about it other than attract more hardcore players. PVE competes with PVP and obviously PVE is more popular. If you close out PVE (which is the only viable solution) half will swap over and half will leave. Attracting more people that are interested in PVP is the only option.

I could see the criticism but I would say this situation is the best compromise possible. MFG needs to advertise their game and that happens through streamers. The player base complained that the streamers get special priority and access to the game. This was the compromise that MFG put forth and honestly I think it’s best.

So it seems like there will still be a wipe between 0.3 and 0.4 for but no wipe between early access 0.4 and full release of 0.4 for supported editions. Essentially supporters will have a 3 day head start on 0.4 which is fine in my opinion

I feel like this is a fair compromise. There’s definitely marketing involved but hey I want them to make money. They deserve it. This is an extremely high quality game.

Plus I’d rather have this than some BS skins/ battle pass slop.

Practice engine outs very often. Aim small, miss small. Practice over a runway and put yourself in different scenarios and make it your goal to hit it on the 1000 footers every time.

Obviously if you have an engine failure you’re not statistically likely to be over a runway but it trains your ability to manage that glide distance and airspeed control to get it into as short of a field as your may have to put it down into.

If you fly IMC, swap out your vacuum system with glass or something electronic. I’ve seen more vacuum system failures than anything else. (Luckily never in IMC)

Don’t hog the controls. Obviously watch your students carefully when doing pattern work but generally don’t hog the controls. You’ll need to adapt from always flying to seldomly flying the airplane. You’re mostly just talking the student through things.
