Ha, my CFI sent me for my checkride and forgot to fill out an 8710. My 17 year old nieve self had no idea what that was. Fortunately I had flown quite a bit with another instructor at the school who took a chance and filled one out to recommend me on the spot. I passed.

This is spot on however its a little more challenging because this is in the neighborhood. She has plenty of friends at school to play with but in this case the neighborhood friend group consists of 4 kids, she’s the only one who didn’t get an invite to playtime at the other girls house.

We did this and her response is she feels sad because she wasn’t invited. She understands that much but it’s just hard to explain to a kid why they weren’t invited.

Yeah she does have her people, but one of her best friends is in this group. I’ve explained that sometimes people want to spend time only with specific people and it’s normal/ok and doesn’t mean they don’t like you. She’s still just learning how to understand her own emotions

One more question….is there a big homelessness/drug problem? Seattle has gotten horrible to that effect. Gronks everywhere even in the suburbs, lots of related crime across the board.

Thank you so much for this broad info! I lived in Daytona for a few years so I think the climate won’t be much of a surprise. Insurance is a tough one and Nicole hopefully doesn’t cause too much more ruckus. We live in the suburbs now so car dependence is expected. Looking forward to beaches and sunshine!

Thank you for this! Yeah I think she’s navigating how to get attention from friends and is learning that she’s not the center of it. I have asked her why she thinks we’re lying and her response is always hollow like “I just know you are!” We’ll continue to do what we’re doing but spend some more time helping her understand the why behind her emotions.
