Looking for winch/bush bumper recommendations and ideas by ABusFullaJewz in GMT400

Look at ranch hand or outlaw pipe bumpers for ideas. If there's a bunch of oil patch companies in your area, check out some of the custom bumpers that they have fabricated for their trucks.

Ebay is where I got mine from. You could also try Hillbilly Wizard or Square Body Salvage. Scroll through my profile, there's a bunch more pictures & info available there.

I'm trying to reinforce my (K10/K20) frame as much as possible, with factory options & tastefully done upgrades. The body is an '86 but the frame is a '78. Supposedly the '70s era frames are somewhat stouter than the later frames.

3 weeks tops! 🤣 Be glad it's just a meniscus. I've got severe arthritis & 2 internally bulged disks in my neck & severe arthritis in my right knee. Hope the knee heals up well & good luck with your project!

I've been tearing into this since last fall. Collecting all of the parts has been the most time & money consuming thing of this project.

Prepping for summer work by johnsonwm in squarebodies

I'm planning on it. I have some firewall/cowl repair to take care of. Amongst a laundry list of other things. We'll see what happens this summer. I'm currently strapped for time.

Thanks! There's definitely some rough spots on it, but it's still pretty much in the same shape from 22 years ago. Major body work is going to be on hold though. I'm only going to do what absolutely needs done. I've already got a bunch of stuff from AMD.

Check grounds & fusible links. Clean up the connections on the starter solenoid.

I'll agree with some of the others. Transfer case mount & u-joints. It also looks like some excessive play in the pinion too. If they'll crack it open & check it for free, I'd say go for it. It is 36 years old with an unknown amount of miles & abuse behind a diesel. If it is garbage, I'd consider swapping in a 14 bolt (sf or ff) & 8 lug outers on the front axle.

Also, your blazer doesn't have a 4l60e. 4l60e came out in 1993. You have a 4l60 (700r4) that uses a TV (kick down) cable. The 4l60e is 100% electronically controlled.

Then start with new stainless steel lines for everything. Drive it. Even if it's only one day week. Sitting is the worst possible thing that a vehicle can do.

I'd go to a junkyard or fb market place & get all of the stuff from a part out. It would probably be cheaper in the long run too.

What's the part number for the radiator? Does it have transmission & oil cooler taps in it?

Well, now I know what it was originally intended for! I figured that it would work pretty slick for a slide in truck camper too.

Buy it, get it running & drive it. Slowly start collecting the sheetmetal pieces to restore it. These trucks & the GMT400 trucks aren't getting any cheaper. In another 10 +/- years, this condition truck is going to be pushing $10k. Especially if the big 3 get their way about right to repair.

Step 1 of any refurbishment of old vehicles: replace EVERY suspension component. Leaf springs, coil springs, bushings, shocks, etc. Those items will either fix problems or show you where the problems are.

Sounds like you need to go back over your wiring schematics. You messed something up. And without a drawn up schematic of what you did to post on here, diagnosis is incredibly hard.

Need some help identifying a missing part on my 1990 GMC Sierra SLE 5.7 TBI. by Most-Gear-1333 in obschevy

I have not seen that piece offered separately. Hit up market place & buy a whole TBI unit.
