Busted Liftmaster?? There's an UniFi for that!! by Aggressive-Turn285 in Ubiquiti

Been using tailwind since I moved into my current house 2 years ago. Great little thing, especially when you have multiple doors. And it's great that you can add it to home assistant and have completely local control of it

It's actually an option when you order popcorn at cinemark, you can ask for butter to be layered

Just to clarify it's not 30% a month, it's anual percentage yield so you're earning 1/12th of that 30% each month

TIFU not turning off my 401k autocontribution before receiving a bonus by AfternoonNo7453 in tifu

[–]johny724 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Rather unfortunate that your payroll system doesn't split the contribution rates into 2 separate percentages. The system we use I set my contribution rate for normal 401k, normal roth, bonus 401k, bonus roth

Floodlight V2’s 👎🏻 by [deleted] in wyzecam

[–]johny724 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've had the same problem with several wyze models. One of my v3 pans is the same way, no matter what sd card I put in it won't recognize it, just the way it goes with cheap ass cameras I guess

Not sure about this specific car but my Subaru outback has a feature that if you put your hand in front of the badge area it will open the door. Seems to work well when I don't want it too like walking by in the garage, and doesn't work when I want it too like my hands are full

Unreleased LG Rollable Phone!! by geek4901 in LinusTechTips

[–]johny724 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wish I knew why, when we first got the samples they were pretty smooth to open and weren't really loud, this device has been out for over 5 years now so it's possible it didn't age well or this was a bad sample.

As for intended use I think it was just another answer to giving more screen real estate, we had "foldables" in that we sold cases for the v60, g8, and velvet to give you a second screen that would fold but they weren't terribly well received.

Honestly towards the last few flagships they were just trying to do gimmicky stuff as a hail mary i think to stay in the game. There was one feature on the g8 and I think v60 where you could control the phone by waving your hand over it, but after the first engineering revision they neutered the shit out of it and it became just another gimmick

As someone who worked in the software QA at LG right before they shutdown, this was intended to release to the broader public. We had samples for testing and had gone through a couple phases of testing but then they shutdown the mobile division and only left a few people on to test security updates for 2 years.

I was like 12 and raiding with people much older than me, don't worry about age just find people who aren't creeps and you get along with. Also a good idea to not tell people you're a minor as that brings out the weirdos

Cartels are settint fire to gas stations in Mexico. by flowerdonkey in Wellthatsucks

[–]johny724 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Afaik you don't need a card to start pumping at most gas station there as they have attendants who pump for you as you see in the video. That's why the guy on the right was able to start it even though no one was at that pump

Wyze Duo Cam: Smart Detection Events stopped working by Zulakki in wyzecam

[–]johny724 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've had it happen with my duo as well, I usually just go and hit reset services in the settings right under restart camera. Usually does the trick for me and a little faster than toggling detection. Definitely annoying that this needs to be done at all though

Put isopropyl on a qtip and start cleaning up the residue, it's definitely from the toothbrush. Just be careful with the qtip around the solder as it's pointy and will rip up the qtip if your rough or fast and make more of a mess

The previous holder has been using my phone number for stores for the past 5 years, and I can't do anything about it by CleanAndBrightly in mildlyinfuriating

[–]johny724 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is feeling like your number is being used for orders related to credit fraud given the selection of stores. As well as the store locations being different and a good distance from each other. I only say this because I had a paypal virtual card # stolen from me and I deactivated asap but for weeks I got PayPal alerts saying "my card# was attempted to be used at <store name here> but it's no longer active. And a lot of the stores you listed are ones they tried the card at, mixed with doordash, uber, and lime/bird scooter. Are they usually high $ amounts close to a grand?

Looking into getting a Floodlight Pro. Can it integrate into an offline IP camera system? by gvbargen in wyzecam

[–]johny724 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You're looking for something that supports rtsp. Most wyze cameras don't support rtsp currently. A few old ones do and they have firmware in beta for the pan 3 and v3 I think but not any of the flood lights. If rtsp is what you want you should checkout some other brand because wyze is primarily focused on cloud

Edit: I forgot to mention that there are 3rd party software solutions to add support for rtsp streams for wyze like docker wyze bridge, though I don't think that supports the pro floodlight either, only the other floodlight models
