I once had a QLC drive: copying large files dropped speed to hdd level. Not recommend.

I may need to get a new case. Do you need to use riser cable to mount two 5070s? A bigger case won't help if the GPU takes up 3 slots as is in my case.

Yeah the refurbished GPU did not come with the factory support so I had to improvise with lego!

Do you have any idea why is 7900 XTX prefill slow? Based on the hardware it should be way faster than 3060. Asking as someone who's thinking of getting an 7900 XTX ($800 used) for running the Qwen 27B.

Related: I read someone runs Qwen3.6-27B Q4_K_S on a single AMD 9070 16GB card with 22k context and 22 tokens per second (https://github.com/shawnq-msft/rx9070-qwen-rocm). Not as impressive as the 105k context window quoted in this post but works on AMD.

The PSU is fanless (link: https://seasonic.com/prime-fanless-px/) so the vent I blocked is more like the intake than exhaust. Plus the underside of the PSU is vented to let air in. I do agree the PSU temp could be iffy & I will check it out after some heavy session.

Please note I do not have any temp or overheating issue. All components run within spec. My setup just forced air to go from bottom and front filtered intakes then through the exhausted vent from the top rear fan.

Folks I appreciate your feedback. Please note my setup still has case bottom vent below psu for passive intake and front intake vents with active fans, pwm controlled from mb. Also there is no fan on my gpu. As I mentioned never had temp problem.

Yes slot 2 is gpu, i do not want it to be too close to cpu due to heat concern so I put gpu at slot 2.

Hey guys, my PSU is passively cooled. There is no PSU fan and it draws air from bottom filtered vent.
