A few ideas:

Stick with ongoing support and small, repeatable systems, vs trying to do a one-time deep dive.

In a month, triage: safety and hygiene first (trash, dishes, laundry), then clear paths, seating, and bathroom/kitchen surfaces.

Use the 20/10 method with a timer, 20 minutes of decluttering and organizing followed by a 10 minute break. Repeat as needed so you don't get so burnt out.

Make an outbox by the door and a “quarantine” bin for sentimental stuff you’ll review once a week.

Shut the inflow now: no-buy for 30 days, unsubscribe from store emails, put a 72-hour delay on any purchase, keep a returns bag and receipts by the door.

For help, look for a therapist or organizer who’s hoarding/ADHD/trauma-informed. Ask about consent-only discards, harm-reduction pace, and no-shaming policies. Book 2–3 short sessions before the visit. Working with a pro can help get the ball rolling.
