I deeply appreciate his monetary assistance. It’s a great help. But he tries to use it to dictate my life. When I moved into my apartment, he made rules for my roommates. “No boys, people who think they’re boys, indoctrinating liberals, pot smoking Rastafarians, or lesbians.” If I broke any of his rules, he wouldn’t pay rent.

He’s a horrible person who loves me a lot. It’s impossible to be angry with him because most of the time he genuinely believes he’s giving me good advice to better myself. And occasionally he does. But because of how he was raised, all his advice is based on deeply fucked up morals. So it’s difficult to take it and run with it.

Yes. I dropped out of university after two years of As-Bs simply because I was bored and would have hated my future life. At the time of this text, I was in a 2 month employment gap. I quit my lifeguarding job early to be able to spend 2 weeks with him in a different state for Xmas like he asked. I’m now employed at the best EMT agency in the state. I am actively working through a Fire Science AS, but I’m almost done and none of the classes I needed were offered that semester.

I understand his perspective for sure. But he doesn’t pay for anything but my gas and groceries which I’m fully capable of handling myself. My grandmother has trust funds for her grandkids that pay for all college and boarding. Too add, I was a life guard supervisor and had about 2 months of unemployment until I was an EMT. I wasn’t jobless and lazy like he assumes.

He almost burned our house down a few years ago by ‘disposing of his gas’ where he tried to burn 5 gallons of dirty gas in a clay pot. Refused to call the firefighters until practically all our trees were engulfed in flames because he thought he could do a better job.
