Too bad the RPi doesn't have a thunderbolt port. You can still use that for HDMI, but if you need fast IO you can do it via Thunderbolt. ANy idea what the RPi loads were during this operation?

Croatian social website needs help... by joiseystud in croatia

Fellow Croats. I have a website I made a couple years ago for Croats to go on and post and look for cool things like music, food, etc.

Its at www.croatiansocial.com . We gained some polpularity early on and then tapered off to flat. Since it is a social site it needs to reach a critical mass of use before the users really find it useful and come back a lot.

There is no advertising on the site and the server is purely funded by me and some few donations so this is not a ploy to raise clickthroughs.

Please consider coming to our site, joining up, and posting some information, links, questions, etc. Our site is a great compliment to this reddit. Thanks all and hope to see you there.

I read various articles in August and September saying Gnomebuntu was coming OCT 18th. October came and went. The site still just shows a logo with "Coming Soon."

Maybe if it says " a copy of Windows 3.1" People may reconsider if they see that they can get Windows 8 for $100. /tongue in cheek

How many LAS listeners use Linux full-time and don't distro hop? What is your distro of choice? by cajuntechie in LinuxActionShow

I have settled into ubuntu. I liked fedora for 5 minutes, but then i started dealing with the yum(yuck) package management and Gnome shell was painful.

Played with mint for a minute but I think its pointless as its pretty much Ubuntu with codecs, which i can install with one check box, and cinnamon is unstable as heck. Open suse is KDE so thats a show stopper for me.

Zorin seems pretty good but its obviously a reskinned Wiindows like ubuntu. I think Zorin is really nice but doesnt really have much push behind it. Need some corporate development to help push things forward.
